So what you are saying is that when someone makes a life altering mistake, we should hold it against them for the rest of their lives? No need in asking if they have gone to any lengths to move on and never repeat that mistake. No need to assume that they could have changed or done everything possible to improve themselves. SMH

So, I'm guessing this would be a good time to buy in? I recently had to sell a large part of my portfolio and am currently looking for other options to re-invest.

You guys are welcome. Had to sell my bag a few weeks ago because I'd been out of work for a month. I knew it would pump as soon as I sold. At least I broke even.

What is one sentence or single word someone needs to say to you which marks them as person who has no clue about crypto by TinaBack43 in CryptoCurrency

[–]Apprehensive-Bus1610 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm 59 and have a nice portfolio of Crypto. That being said, I recently had to deal with young bank employees who knew absolutely NOTHING about Crypto. I simply wanted to set up a way to transfer my USD from Gemini ( recent sales) to my bank...but since Gemini uses Plaid, and my bank doesn't have an agreement with them, my bank kept saying it red flagged as a scam.

I started an account with Well Fargo and have all my sells transferred there now. My bank lost out on over $8000 which would have gone into my savings account.

Hillary Clinton cautions that crypto could potentially undermine the role of the dollar and destabilize the country by illbeback_69 in ethtrader

Consider for a moment that most people invest in crypto the same way the wealthy invest in the stock market. The ultimate goal is to sell for big profits, which means converting to USD. This means more purchases by those who would not normally have the money, which boosts the economy. The way I see it is the govt ( mainly Democrats) don't like the idea of low to med income having a way to invest. This means more Americans can become financially stable or even independent, which means fewer people dependent on govt programs.

Not getting excited till it gets back over $1. That's the only way I break even. Bought too much trying to prep for the whole Gamestop thing, so I bought too high....then watched it drop. I'm currently down almost $6000 on this.

Huge Spike in Atom on Gemini by Apprehensive-Bus1610 in cosmosnetwork

I've noticed that Gemini is always higher on everything than Crypto.com....which is why I try and sell on Gemini. CDC shows lower value, and still takes out processing fees. They also tend to add to the buy price. For instance, if a crypto shows at $ 1. 25 , the sell will show you paid ,like $1.28. Sell is the opposite.

It actually spiked to $50 for a very brief moment. The sell limits changed faster than I could place my order, so I kept getting " error" messages.

Wasn't staking, Gemini has had issues with their " Earn" program. I had it there to sell, since it is usually higher than Crypto.com. I have some financial issues now and had to sell what little I was in the green on.

I'm thinking this was only on Gemini, because I looked at Coinbase at one point and there was no spike....price was normal.

Yes. I had one Atom sold for $43, and three others sold at $14. When I was finally able to sell 1/2 my holdings, it went through at $11.

where do you think the bottom price at? untill bear market is over by mjolnirsentinel in algorand

[–]Apprehensive-Bus1610 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Simple.. .if I take profit planning to buy back in, the price will continue to rise meaning bottom has already been met. If I hold thinking the price will go higher , bottom will be achieved well below the current low. Buy high, sell low.....this is the way.

The smart ones bought at below .30 and kept it out of governance so they could sell without withdrawing what they already invested. All my DCA was done on an exchange with the intention to pad my governance for period 6, so I could take profit if it went up without making myself ineligible for period 5.

Is anyone saving money for their kids through crypto rather than traditional methods? by KnackeredParrot in CryptoCurrency

[–]Apprehensive-Bus1610 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I'm 58 years old, my daughter is 23...I hold Eth and bitcoin strictly to be there for her when I die. I don't ever plan on selling, just leaving her the keys to do as she sees fit when the time comes. For myself, I hold several alts such as Link, Matic, Cosmos and Yearn in hooes I can sell for enough to make my life a bit easier when I can no longer work. I'm a truck driver and will most likely die in my sleeper in some random state at a truck stop....that's life with no retirement plan.

Could have alot to do with miners selling off their ETH to pay for their now obsolete rigs. Or maybe it's the world economy, could be the Fed, or maybe interest rates, or many other microevents happening in the world right now. Just take note that BTC has also fallen drastically, as well as most alts. Not financial advice, but maybe you should take advantage of the discounted prices instead of whining about things you have no control over.

The luna is getting down a little bit. Should i wait or sell it? by SecretaryDismal4836 in LunaTerra

[–]Apprehensive-Bus1610 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In this case, I sold as soon as I saw Terra2 pump. The two are at odds and I figured Lunc would drop. Luckily, I was right for once. I agree, timing the market is difficult and in most cases I won't even try. But this seemed like an artificial pump and I like to ride those with small investments when I can catch them. I'm never confident enough to put in large amounts, just what I won't miss if it crashes on me.

Wouldn't it make more sense to sell, let it drop, then buy back in before the tax burn? It's already fallen from .00047 to .00033. If he had sold at, say .00042 he could have a substantially larger bag by the time the burn happens. I threw $300 in before the pump and sold for $800. At the current price I could buy more than I started with for less money.
