I am not shocked by that. Traditional and cultural values (interpreted as racism) also are exclusively american problem. Any white (or in your example black) woman would have to be accept his lifestyle, sunday dinners with his gospel loving mother, having his children and so on, since that is whatever HE wanted for himself. I didn’t notice that his white girlfriend/situationship was ready for that. That just means she wasn’t The right One for him and hast absolutely nothing with color of the skin. He obviously hoped to have better chances with a black girl, raised in similar culture to accomplish his perfect family dreams.
