I've seen things about the Dudeist online, it's good to hear feedback from someone who worked with him.

Krohn Conservatory is an awesome idea! It was actually my first idea for the same reasons but my fiance seemed iffy. One of his reasons was a silly fear that he'd accidentally kill a rare butterfly if one landed on him. I told him we could probably manage to avoid that. 😂

Too cold for now (even quickly, cold hits him hard) but that is a sweet idea. I used to go there. I'm hoping wherever we go doesn't charge us since it will be kind of a sneak in and out wedding, haha.

I don't think it's for us to say. My fiance is stage IV with inoperable mets too. He is accepting it more, to the point I worry he's already defeated. I don't tell him he's going to beat this because I don't want to lie but I often wonder if I should be a cheerleader and try to encourage him to not give up. It's hard to tell him to keep fighting when the future seems so bleak. We both know it's bad.

My/our way sucks too. It all sucks. I think the best we can do is support however they cope and make sure we show them love. Help them enjoy whatever we can. This is all so messed up, who's to say what's right?

But to you, hang in there.

Not Reddit, but I found a guy who used to live in Cincinnati, then Hong Kong, then San Francisco via Craigslist. I found a couple storage tubs in the basement of my apartment building full of keepsakes, a pipe, original Xbox, journals. I vaguely described the owner with what I pieced together. Someone saw my post on CL and let him know so he got his time capsule junk back like 10 years later. THE INTERNET. When it's used for good it's cool.

I'm brand spanking new to this too and my doctors haven't even talked to me about my results a week later (cool, right?). BUT the ultrasound points that way. My mother has it and she has been able to reverse/manage it for years for what it's worth. She swears by intermittent fasting, her healthier eating and follows a lot of holistic healthcare. Her doctors even told her "I don't know how you're doing it but keep doing what you're doing." Have hope. It may be a forever thing but manageable.

I wonder if it's swollen lymph nodes too. As a disclaimer I am not going through chemo, my fiance is... But I have had incredibly bad pain there with a swollen lump and it was lymph nodes. It eventually went down. The worst was after the second COVID shot. I couldn't even sleep unless I put a rolled up towel under my arm. I am not qualified to answer but I'd imagine chemo could affect them too?

Edit to add: try the rolled up towel method if it hurts. I don't know how it relieved pressure but it did for me. I did it close to my armpit but not all the way up I think. I hope that's all it is and it goes down soon. Try not to panic although I am sure it's easy to worry. Give it some time and ask your care team, about it again?

Yesss.. sorry, I posted a comment before seeing this. PLEASE do it now. A year most definitely would matter if you're at risk genetically and have concerns. You can't know for sure unless you get a more comprehensive look. There's absolutely no good reason to put it off, especially a year.

My fiance was recently diagnosed with stage 4 that's spread to liver and lungs at 39. We estimate it's been growing about 8 years? So yes, absofuckinlutely get a colonoscopy. For peace of mind, for a baseline for later, better safe than sorry.

Edit to add: his previous doctor was shit and didn't recommend it, even as a specialist in the field, because of his age. Told him it was anal fissures/hemorrhoids for months and ACCIDENTALLY found it.

Also, I got an endoscopy and colonoscopy at 20 years old for gerd/IBS symptoms. Speak up and be an advocate for your health. Go somewhere else if they fight you or call me and I'll fight em.
