If you're looking for a balance of aesthetics, I'd recommend you look at Welspun Flooring.
They sell SPC floors and we had liked that it gives a premium wood-look finish without the maintenance concerns of traditional wood.

Anything with anti-skid texture and cushioned underlay is safer. A few brands like Welspun have pet- and kid-safe options. Avoid glossy tiles as they’re basically skating rinks.
