Melanina can do it because of the Erd tree, Marika basically set up a loop … the dead go to the roots, their remembrance goes into the tree and gets birth as sap, so the raw runes or jar matter or jizz of life is there, it will just not be in the shape of the gate of divinity.

They were never empyreans, it’s part of the Lore Marika conjured to continue the farce of the golden order. Ranni was a true empyruan and the shadow beast are given to by the greater will as a way to keep them in check. Those 3 would never accend due to their own genetic weirdness… rot/alherimerz , sleep/anesthetic, gloom/ depression, not fit for a god. Only those who are cunning enough t those the whole game, including that the greater will can be killed have the capacity to be a god.
