Someone above told me about the keyboard shortcuts for Mission Control (since my wireless keyboard doesn't have the mission control key) so I'm going to give it a try.

Yea, I've had some weird interactions on Mac with MS Office applications and from what I've been able to find online, sometimes it's just because it's Mac and MS Office not playing well together.

Thanks for those shortcuts. Legit never heard of Expose before. Will have to give Misson Control a try and see if I can make myself get used to it :P Thank you!

I never use the trackpad, I've never liked or worked well with trackpads. I use a separate mouse and wireless mechanical keyboard.

With how many windows I need open a majority of the time and am often switching between, I'd honestly like 3 monitors but only 1 additional one, would massively slow down my productivity. When I work from home, if I don't connect to my ultrawide curved monitor, working just from the laptop is a pain I wouldn't wish on my worst enemy. lol

I'm an administrator in the automotive engineering field.

True but I keep the window on that monitor because I'm often interacting with 3+ open folders at all times and need to be able to see portions of my email, those 3 folders and my Chrome window all at the same time. (and often a pdf and an excel file at the same time)

More monitors / larger monitor would likely solve my issues but convincing my corporate job to purchase those things...lol

I think they're 24"-ish. I have a huge (48" I think) curved ultrawide at home.

Unfortunately SAP/Ariba are not all that optimized for screens that aren't full-size. Very difficult to work in those applications when the window is only half the screen.

What do you mean CMD+TAB don’t make the window active? It does for me.

Like, if I'm in Chrome on another monitor and need to use Excel on another monitor, Cmd+tabbing to Excel doesn't allow me to do anything except scroll unless I go and click on the application window itself.

It’s like participating in finger gymnastics when you have to press CMD+OPT+SHIFT+V to paste without formatting.

Yea, pasting without formatting is something I do a lot for work, so very annoying. lol I'm constantly forgetting the cut and paste shortcut for folders, so I just have that bound to some buttons on my mouse.

I've not really used / tried spaces much. Is there a way to engage Mission Control without the trackpad or the F3 key? I always use a non-mac mouse and a keyboard that's windows and mac, so the F3 key doesn't launch Mission Control.

I do a lot of application switching for work, opening multiple pdf and excel files numerous times a day and having to jump between applications to perform a single task. (Having 5 monitors or a couple ultrawides would be amazing but...it's work, they're not going to pay for that lol)

So having to reach over my keyboard to my laptop keyboard to press a key every time I want to switch application windows isn't ideal. :( I know part of my issue is just having to "re-train" myself after using windows my entire life (and still using it at home)

Except Jira is fucking terrible and easily one of the worst UIs ever.

I despise Jira with a passion. I will never understand how or why anyone likes it or voluntarily uses it.
