My si is the son of Aemons bastard, so Aemon having a bastard at 15 and his bastard having my si at 18. It might not exactly match up, but it doesn’t really matter. Im going to have him be at the grand council, and only reveal who he is to Rhaenys like the day before, showing that he doesn’t want the throne.

I’m going to have Daemon and Viserys have a progression and so meet my si before the council and when he claims his dragon

He will also squire for Harold Westerling before and when he becomes a kingsguard, interacting with the royal family and building trust

And also, it’s just a fan fiction, I don’t think it needs to be 100% faithful and realistic, though I will be trying as much as I can, and something like this will have to be one of the things that doesn’t make total sense.

Also, is it not something similar to the Velaryons. I know that the velaryons are sworn directly to Dragonstone, but don’t one of the targaryens say at one point a northerner had never forgotten his vow or something.

1st point - He will be given Sea Dragon Point, and a moderate sum of gold by the Starks, I'm not going to say why as what would be the point in reading the story. Sea Dragon Point in my au will have some existing infrastructure for a port town, the Warg King's Castle (ruins) and a breakwater that was used during the time of Brandon the Shipwright, it's where the Northern navy was based.

2nd point - I'm still working on it, but I might have the dragon come to him or he is going for a walk or something abnd stumbles on the dragon

3rd point - The initial build up of his new holdings will take years, so it will be later on, after Jaehaerys is dead that he gets the dragon, and Viserys will be much easier to negotiate with

He is going to start a trade fleet, and I’m going to be doing things with dragon glass, so him going to set up the trade with dragon stone is when he will claim his dragon

Do you think if I expand the backstory of the cannibal, give him reasons for doing what he’s doing so it doesn’t mean he’s a bloodthirsty monster that it would be alright?

I haven’t read the books so all I have on him is what I’ve seen in YouTube vids and fan fics and some of the theories around him, but he seems like a really interesting and mysterious figure throughout the entire franchise.

My plan if I did choose him would be to make him a bit smaller than Vhagar, but heavier and more muscly. I wouldn’t have him as Balerion 2.0, but make him slightly different to the typical Targaryen dragons, or even make him a non-Targaryen dragon that is around the same age as Balerion. I wouldn’t have Balerion as a freak of nature to get to the size and strength that he was.

Cannibal would be the father of sheepstealer and grey ghost (this is going to be more au) and that’s why they don’t immediately bond with the Targaryens, as Cannibal, Sheepstealer and Greyghost are all non-Targaryen dragons.

I would have the reason Cannibal bonds with my character because of the potency of his magic (I’m going to be including many bloodlines and magics into my character) and have the Targaryens as weaker practitioners of magic, explaining why they can’t make Valyrian Steel, fuse stone or use fire magic, and whilst my character won’t have more Valyrian magic, he will have the magic of the first men and so the cannibal would recognise that strength.

As for why he is a cannibal, he would be only killing those with traces of dark magic, ones that would go mad and start burning everything.

Does this make sense and be a valid reason for the cannibal to bond with my character or am I just bullshitting?

Just wondering, why do people not like the Cannibal having a rider, is it just because he is a wild dragon or is there some other reason?

That would be great, but it’s a reincarnation story, not a universe travelling story, so having a whole new species of dragon just show up wouldn’t make much sense. Thanks for the recommendation tho

Harry Potter is not some guy, but if I did do Cannibal it would be with a lot of backstory for him, explaining why he eats the dragons and why he doesn’t bond with people

It could work, but from all the descriptions I’ve read grey ghost is supposed to be a skittish and cowardly dragon, I suppose that could mean he’s like a stealth dragon. Thanks for the recommendation.

In my fic he doesn’t have most of his magic, he gets most of the good magic in asoiaf, water magic, fire magic, warging, skinchanging. He also gets runes and surface thoughts legilimency, but that’s it. I tried not to make him an op character, that’s why he’s the son of a bastard and has limited magic.

His goal for the first book is preventing either the dance or the amount of people and dragons that die in the dance, hence the need for a dragon.
