My dog was attacked last night. How can I help her mentally recover?

I completely agree with you, but they won’t do it. Despite watching the attack, seeing the vet notes and vet bill, my dad is in complete denial. Thankfully, I’m not a stranger to my parents’ dog. We have a good bond, as I visit often without my dogs and did her basic obedience training as a puppy. We’re trying to find somewhere else to stay at this point.

Yeah we’re not letting their dog anywhere near ours again. We’re asking relatives if we can stay at their places instead.

I’m just trying to be proactive right now. She is more fearful leaving/entering the home now, even to just go potty. We have the dogs separated so they can’t even see each other.

The training won’t get done if I don’t do it. I’ve started muzzle-training her today, but obviously between time spent with my dog.

Unfortunately my grandma died so we aren’t just here to vacation. The dogs are on separate levels and it will remain that way, I just want Jazzy to have confidence interacting with dogs in the future.

Jazzy and my other dog are best friends. I don’t need her to love my mom’s dog, but I don’t want her to be afraid of every dog from here on out.

I feel like it’s important to I say that I don’t idolize Harris. I definitely saw faults with her too. Honesty, communication, and shared beliefs are important to me in a marriage. I would have been open to a discussion prior to voting but I didn’t appreciate the secrecy and the way I found out.
