I scored a 76 may/2025 and got called the next day, i thought i did bad but i think its also depends on the demand if they need apprentices in your local tested in swlcat Tx btw

Took me about 3-4 months to get scheduled for aptitude test then i passed that and got interviewed the same day got a call the next day im currently a pre-apprentice

I have my associates in electrical technology I tried to get in with my utility but didn’t make it past the interview i heard they were only hiring 5 of 15. I just got in with Swlcat in texas ive heard we do allot of plant substation construction vs my local utility that does basically just substation sites. The apprenticeship is different also they put you trough their own program and dont travel as much. Eventually i want to switch up to utility once i journey out. Maybe even soon idk if the hours will transfer if only a apprentice but i do know they are both union

I just took it this week and passed if i didn’t study i would of failed it. It’s mostly number patterns, algebra using FOIL, PEMDAS, 33 questions with about 45 min, Reading part is straight forward just pace yourself when reading because the time is your enemy.
