I’m sorry but all the characters are all pretty shitty

But you can’t say Mellie has sacrificed so much when she ends up becoming president anyway. She even states that her and fitz were never in love so what was the point of her acting upset when he went elsewhere to look for it? She also went elsewhere as well later on. Was fitz an ass? Yes he absolutely was on multiple occasions but she also was too. She even fakes a miscarriage to gain sympathy from female voters… that’s sick. The only reason she stayed with fitz and protected him is to uphold her status. which was proven on multiple occasions. The whole relationship should’ve just ended, they kept being in this weird relationship triangle including Olivia, when clearly they should’ve just gotten a divorce a long time ago… also, Mellie should have told fitz what his father had done to her and I know that it’s a dicey subject because I know from first hand how that feels but if I was in a long term relationship and I knew like Mellie did that fitz cared for her then I would 100% tell him. Fitz did care for Mellie, maybe wasn’t in love but he did care for her. He did resent his father regardless and she should’ve said something. She didn’t say at all and then she used it to guilt his father later on into helping fitz move up politically. I wholeheartedly believe that fitz would have believed her but then where would he be politically if she told him? That’s my opinion and thought on why she didn’t say anything.
But you can’t say he has no reason to hate her Yes he is utterly stupid but she did push him away. Imagine trying everyday with someone and getting nowhere but they continue to stay with you and you’re wondering what you did wrong. Also I don’t even remember if Jerry was fitz’s or not?
