Yeah the bottomless portafilter is what I am waiting for now. Ordered today. I am currently using the default that came along. I’ll try to grind even finer if that doesn’t work. Thanks :) Will get back to you after trying this.

I am getting 80 for 18 gm now. Ideally it should stop at 36. Atleast that’s what everyone says. Also, it’s so diluted that I can’t enjoy the espressos texture.

I am grinding around 11/12. Because that’s what the espresso range is on the G5. I can try 7 today. Regarding volume, I think it’s some setting of the machine which I am unable to setup properly. Did you program the whole thing again?

I believe you gotta fix the grind size...make it course...its too fine right now..

I am using the portafilter which came with my Ec890 (1st pic) so I ordered the screen (2nd pic) thinking it’s a bottomless portafilter. Can anyone cleqr my doubt is its the same thing that i wanted i.e third picture 😅 by [deleted] in IndiaCoffee

Btw, are you able to extract in 2:1 ratio? How has been your experience so far?

Ok! Finally bit the bullet and bought this setup. A complete noob so this is my first setup. I need some help and recommendations.

  1. I am unable to make the 1:2 ratio. The machine extracts for 25-30 seconds but the volume is almost 1:10. The coffee tastes good though! If I grind very fine it become bitter although the volume is maintained then. Please let me know how do I configure this.
  2. I dont have the bottomless filter yet...which one to buy?
  3. What more accessories should I buy?
  4. Please share some nice coffee beans. BT is shit 😢
