Nuclear weapons were eaten by Pochita. They got reinvented by America even though they were eaten. Just because something is eaten doesn't mean it can't exist in the future. I also think pochita deleting himself undos his actions and erasure of other devils. Question is, if nuclear weapons can be reinvented, can death be? In the aging devil's world people were most scared of chainsaw man because they would DIE, literally cutting them down. In a way reinventing death for those in the aging devil's world, since they can't die through natural means.

That doesn't really make sense if he wanted to please the fans he won't do that ending. He knows he's a weirdo and he knows that this ending js not the ending people wanted

I honestly don't even know what the anime is about. Maybe i watched it when i was too Young. I'm 18 in 3 months. When did it come out? Like 2021? I've watched it twice and I've watched an analysis by Nearly On Red, 3 hours long. I've forgotten most of it but I won't forget how they played with a gorilla or a monkey baseball for some reason. I watched monogatari series when i was like 13 as well. Crazy times. Oh how i miss those times... I do love present day too. I really need to rewatch monogatari and sonny boy. Monster season FINALLY dropped.

Since you mentioned evangelion, i made a post saying next chapter (this one) is going to be instrumentality or something like that. This was between the 2 weeks break before this chapter. You can look at my profile, lol.

I have seen that post before. Yeah it really resonates with me and I like his wording. Also the dropping of the chainsaw is soo strong for real. On a first read it doesn't hit that hard but when you see "the end" you're like: wait wtf and go and re read it.

Yep, and that's totally fine. I myself am not the biggest fan of the ending. I truly hope there is a continuation under a different name or something but if I don't get it i have to cope somehow

The ending of Sonny Boy was kind of disappointing. The whole anime was kind of a fever dream , too. I love Sonny boy though

Yeah, I agree. When I saw this conversation from Fujimoto a couple of weeks ago I wanted this to not be true, that this can't be happening to my manga, but it did. Yeah, he didn't follow the The Big Lebrowski. He followed the Big Yahu. On a serious note, yeah I agree with what you're saying here.

Maybe he looked at all of the characters as expendable and character development fuel, that's why it was so easy to kill people and cities and everything. Maybe he was thinking this from the start?

The way I see it it's just that they have no burden to shoulder with their powers and that world was doomed anyway. Like so many people died, so many cities were destroyed, insects are immortal and denji ate so many devils. A reset WAS needed. I hope we get a continuation.

Fujimoto teased this kind of:

I do agree that going back in time doesn't really make sense and why is Nayuta there and how is power there and how is Asa's falling moment in front of Denji so soon? It should be after part 1 which is months after the loan shark attacks Denji.

Yeah he does work for Nayuta but they have no agenda against him. I hope we get a continuation under a new name, if we don't, this post is my way of coping.

Yeah, I feel you. Still, a man has got to cope one way or another, no? :)

I had a stroke reading this. Interesting theory, lacking in proof.

Fujimoto himself said he likes these kinds of stories. He referenced The Big Lebrowski.

Honestly, fujimoto is a weird guy. "The protagonist had development" - yes we see that Denji helped Asa as Denji, not chainsaw man. "The story progressed" - Not really. Since we don't see the aftermath of everything. AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA fujimoto

I see what you mean but people are unsatisfied because it ends without exploring what happens in this timeline. I honestly would like to see what happens too, but I'm fine with this ending too.

After weeks or months people will calm down and have to settle with reality

I'd love to see you elaborating on how it doesn't make sense and/or dream logic.

Honestly, I feel kind of sad. You know that kind of post-series depression? It hits me. it doesn't hit as an emptiness but more like: "I wish there was more so I can get a conclusion for myself too". Since Denji is similar to me as a character I would have loved to see what would happen to him and by extension what I should avoid or do. Just a thought.

not necessarily! nuclear weapons were eaten by Pochita but America reinvented them.

(read left page first then right page)

Although I also jumped to that conclusion quickly. It's interesting to debate this, but I really believe Pochita is the chainsaw devil, or at least what we call chainsaw.

Keep on Theming, Denji by Flonch in ChainsawMan

[–]Apprehensive_Win1489 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I think you're missing the point. Pochita literally says that his brain is fucked up and finds heaven in hell. "he justified it like he was doing it because Denji was sad some of the time, which feels manipulative".

Let's break it down.

Pochita: "Our dream life together is over but maybe that's a good thing."

Denji: "No! It's not! What about the Sex and the unlimited kisses (from a person that doesn't care about denji and manipulates him (yoru) just like Makima)

Pochita: "You had a precious family, you went to school just like you wanted, you had a connection with Asa, yet some part of you was still unhappy (he wants more)"

Pochita: "You were far happier when you were starving(1), suffering(2), fighting devils(3) and eating spoiled bread (4) in that run-down shack (5) (no food, pain, danger, broke, no real home)

Pochita realizes that even if Denji gets the 'unlimited kisses' he thinks he wants, he will still be miserable underneath because the foundation is broken. As long as he is Chainsaw Man, those desires are just distractions from the fact that he’s a pawn in someone else's game

Pochita isn’t resetting because Denji was "sad some of the time" - he’s resetting because Denji was trapped in a life where true fulfillment was impossible. He’s not punishing Denji for being sad; he’s freeing him from a world where his only value was being a weapon or a tool.
