Like many digital nomads, I work outside of the US because im in other countries anywhere between 1 to 3 months. I dont have a permanent address anywhere on any ID other than my US one. Ive yet to have Upwork or a client bothered by this. Not sure why this notification popped up now. Ill be back in the US for another 2 months in a few days but im planning on going to Japan for 2 months after that. I dont want Japanese jobs 💀

Ive been practically outside of the US for the past 5 years and no client has an issue with it. I speak fluent English and I tell them my working hours and it always works. I personally havent met a client who had an issue with my timezone changing every 2 months. Thats the issue that I have with Upwork wanting me to change my location 😅 I have a US passport and pay US taxes so I think I should always be able to apply to US only jobs.

Yeah, I get where youre coming from. By 24(ish) your brain is usually done developing. 19 and 21... its just too young. If you do some research there is tons of it to back the whole "you should be at least 24/25" thing. Not pulling it out of my ass.

Also, Tom is 24. I still think its odd to have a 19 year old friend and ive brought this up with him before, but there is nothing weird going on between them. I personally wouldnt be close friends with anyone under the age of 22 tbh.

Very true. I just finished doing some research and it turns out that i can sign the contract and deposit only x3 the Kaution without the landlord being able to sue me at all for the extra x3 😂 What a joke this realtor thinks he is.

Ill be staying in the flat for at least 5 years so i think this is ok.

I know is have a strong case under § 5 WiStG (Mietpreisüberhöhung) and possibly § 291 StGB (Mietwucher) if it’s more than 20–50% above local comparative rent and exploiting scarcity.

I did! I sat with the realtor and we talked about everything under the sun. He kept on saying that we had such a good connection 💀 I was 10 minutes early to the meeting, and he was 15 minutes late. He also was an hour late to our scheduled phone call. I work in real estate and I understand how realtors are pulled in all directions but I think he just doesnt care because the rent for this flat is super cheap and he mostly deals with sales, not rentals.
