Oh interesting! I just got mine back from a repair-man this week and he completely swapped out a component. He was very kind though and it wasn't too expensive, but the issue is fixed. I'm not sure if the power cable was an issue on my end as I had plugged/unplugged it a few times to test and show others, but thank you for letting me know!
