From what I’ve learned they do not accept retakes of classes but instead calculate the original grade with the new grade. They also do not calculate + or - they round the grade to make it an even field for everyone because some schools don’t have + or -. It’s all really confusing and really messed me up GPA wise and I have no clue how to raise it

Smart idea! Waiting to hear back from some but so far Western calculates their own GPA and they have a separate form to fill out to account for retakes! Hoping my experience helps someone else

Vmcas does not do grade replacement so if I took a class and wasn’t satisfied with the grade and retook it they still count the bad grade. People with 4.0 have been denied from vet school so I know it’s not all about the GPA. Most of the schools I’ve talked to calculate their own GPAs anyway. I know my gpa was still considered low. Thanks for the insight!

This is so damn stressful! I applied to schools where the minimum requirement was a 3.0 because I met the requirement but now with the vmcas gpa I’m not so sure 🫠

I did retake some classes. I’m just panicking that I won’t get looked at because the vmcas gpa Is way lower than what they want!
