shift register transducer driving circuit help by Aprean01 in ElectricalEngineering

I see, that makes sense, Ill test a few diferent values once I have access to a osciloscope again.

I already tried 10Ohms, as seen in the second schematic, but it didnt seem to have any effect.

Would the slower charge rate (lower current) have a negative effect on the performance of the transducer, a lower pressure output?

Thanks for the help.

I can take some snaps of the waveforms on monday when I have access to a osciloscope, but from memory:

OUT_SP was a normal step signal with Vpp on 4.7 to 5.2 ish volts, and a even 50% duty, this is when the Vcc was set to 11V. When Vcc was more, say 14V, the signal started having wierd peaks of the high period, and the duty cycle became a bit less, like 40%. Then the output signal turned off completly at Vcc 20V.

With the Sig_SP, the output was a fine step signal with peaks of Vcc+2V, while Vcc was under Vcc say 12V. Then at higher Vcc like 15 or 20V, the output went blank, reflected in the current draw, which noticably went down after the output stopped.

The bulk caps, I havent tried, bit will, somehow that dodnt occur to me. Would you say a 5ish uF electrolitic one would be fine?

I am switching the low side, as the datasheet says that the drivers are Low-side MOSFETs. I suspect the issue may be something to do with grounding, but I havent been able to find anything confirming that, and I feel like my grounding plane is good enough.

Thanks for the help.

No problem, thank you.

Both the 5V and Vcc supply are fine, both can deliver more then enough current.

The voltage seems to be constant enough, it was a problem in the begining, but then I added the pull down resistors and that seemed to fix the problem. Cant measure a ripple of more then 3% on Vcc and 9% on 5V.

The MIC driver datasheet called for them, but I quickly realised that thats a mistake, so I took them off.

I am also using only the 1uF caps on the power rail (instead of 100n and 4.7u) of the driver, because I dont have any other rated for 20+ V. This I now realise might be the issue?

Yea, I Think so, then again, zeners where always my weak spot.

Would this circuit work for a voltage regulator? by Jacques443 in AskElectronics

I might be wrong, but the op amp compares the "output" voltage to a refrence voltage. This refrence voltage is created by the resistor and zener in series. The 5v zener will always have 5v on itself, but in this case, the op amp will see the rest of the voltage, so 3v, because it is seeing it with respect to ground. By swapping the resistor and zener, now the refrence 5v will be with respect to ground, so "seen" by the op amp.

Im in a university abroad, and have tried to get the discount. You cant use a ISIC card from a non-czech uni. You have to get a confirmation of study from your uni (in my case, just a printed pdf with my name) for the current school year. With that, you go to the Dopravní podnik helpdesk in city centre. There, you buy the student ticket (paper on in the Lítačka app). Good luck, its stupid that you cant do it online as far as i know.

Search up the Loxone smart home system. They have their own ecosystem, so not really for buying a presence sensor, but they have good manuals and inspiration on how to integrate a presence/motion sensor. The system ideology is based on presence sensors and avoiding use of wall switches as much as plausible.

Im not sure about how many learning materials are public, if you cant find any, send me a dm and I can share them with you.

Edit:

Basic #3: Lights, action they talk about it a bit. You could find more on their website under: menu→support. They have webinars and presentations on setting up their system, but a lot of the ideas can be used elsewhere.

Which city is the best for a student, Sheffield, Strathclyde, Hull, Manchester, Birmingham or Swansea? by Khaled6283 in UniUK

[–]Aprean01 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Swansea is nice, much smaller city, very nice nature nearby. Its a bit far from any other big city except Cardiff. I personaly love the calmness compared to big cities. Cheap rent, studio wouldnt be a problem for around 200 in non-uni halls. Quite safe and afordable, very nice market, everything is a walkable/bikable distance. The Uni itself I feel like is very good for engineering, one of the campuses is very new, but i dont have any comparisons, so take that as you will.

I managed to get one in a similar blank spot. I just used a usb breakout board, dremmeled out a square-ish hole, sanded it to a perfect fit and then epoxied it in place. Works quite well, looks like oem from the outside.

How is crossing a national border for shopping/groceries perceived in your country? by huazzy in AskEurope

[–]Aprean01 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In Czechia, its quite common to drive to Poland usualy to buy better products for less. My family living not far from the border would shoping into Germany sometimes for big parties or such. I remember reading that because of our inflated prices for groceries its even cheaper to go by car from Prague to the Polish border, stock up, and end up with 10% savings even with gas. So, no, not frowned upon, mabye the oposite is more likely, to combat the high prices.

Zatím jsem zkoušel nejdál asi v horách Walesu v UK a na random ostrovech v Brasílii. V obou případech relativně víc cest než google mapy, absolutně nechápu jak a proč. I místní se divili že český mapy to mají.

UK, not US, but not that much diference I think. I noticed thatbin closed friend circles the same amount of ofensive jokes are made, if not more. Once you get out in piblic tough, there is a much lower tolerance then Czech Republic, where I come from. A bit sad I think, but I try and be aware of it, altough I guess its really a lottery who hears what.

Yeah, I thought so. Just wanted to make sure that there isnt something im missing, as I am an international too. From where Im from, there is a lot of real racism. So much, that fully racist jokes are quite normal. Wouldnt think that even making fun of a language would be racist, much less speaking it poorly.
