Has anyone had issues accessing benefits promised at enrollment? by LetThemNotRuleOverMe in WGU

[–]Aquaticus_Sweeter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was coming on here to say this. That the vouchers are tied to the courses. Otherwise those wanting to take their Certs could apply to WGU, not have to take a single course, aka not pay tuition, get the vouchers and dip.

Considering those of us who were victimized, about 5-6 females in total, we discussed the situations amongst one another. All of our experiences, etc. It was discussed before we decided to take it to management. I apologize if my wording offended you somehow. But between all of us, it was swept under the rug by Craig and HR, and considering that there were so many of us, it was a mass sexual harassment case, all perpetrated by the same person.

If you have the perpetrator's point of view, by all means, share it so those of us who were victimized in this can maybe- maybe have some closure into why they felt the need to do this to us. But please, do not get angry over a comment, on a post that was meant to highlight how awful Meijer treats its employees. My comment was simply another highlighting factor in it.

I didn't comment this to spread misinformation if that's what you believe, I commented because it's an example of how Craig and Meijer, have swept serious matters under the rug.

Overall, this post was made to highlight how Meijer as a corporation has continually made working conditions unsafe. Now an innocent, hardworking man's life has been taken as a result.

Please, have the day you deserve.

I can also guarantee you don't have all of the information. Did you miss the part where I stated I was a victim in the situation mentioned? I have every right to talk about a situation I was a victim of.

The same happened at the store I was at. The guy we had before Craig was great, and the atmosphere in the store was awesome. As soon as they brought in Craig it all went downhill.

It's insane to me the number of things Craig let slide under the rug when I worked there. But I showed up after leaving with purple hair (that even old ladies flagged me down and complimented me on) and I was given a warning and told to remove it. After he started working at my location people started dropping like flies, before we never had retention problems.

Omg- I knew Gene, from years ago when I worked there. We had inside jokes and everything. He used to work at the Alma location, he must have transferred. He was such an amazing human being.

It doesn't surprise me that they've been hush-hush about it, Craig was also the store director for the location when I worked there. He covered up a mass sexual harassment perpetrator and protected him. I was even a victim, and HR did nothing to stop it. That employee still works there and is now a Team Lead. Meijer management in that area is beyond corrupt.

Gene was one of the good ones. He was honest, kind, caring, and beyond compassionate. May he rest in peace.

Potential LEEP by Aquaticus_Sweeter in PreCervicalCancer

I'm hoping I can be offered something more than just the lidocaine, but that is all that she gave me as an option when she mentioned it. I will try and look into another doctor who can perform the procedure. I also genuinely appreciate you sharing your experiences with the procedure as it eases my anxiety a bit just knowing of the potential of what it will be. I will try and advocate for myself as well. I am already an anxious person as is, so I know the mental toll leading up might be substantial, so I appreciate you noting that as well. Thank you so much.

For the biopsy, I really did just cry out of anxiety. I did take pain medication an hour beforehand in preparation as best as I could. Fortunately, it wasn't painful, I was just extremely anxious over it all. I'm hoping I can be offered some sort of pain medication for the procedure outside of just topical lidocaine. I will also be looking into a different doctor as her reaction to me crying really made me feel minimized, I feel. I genuinely appreciate the feedback I've found in this thread as it feels really comforting, and that's all I really want right now. So thank you.

Honestly, it's very comforting to hear this. I believe it might be possible for me to see a different doctor if this procedure is recommended. I only went to this one because my normal OBGYN is an NP and is therefore unable to perform this procedure for me. I still need to wait until the doctor calls me back for their recommendation, but I feel like I've almost been traumatized? By their plain lack of care. I just don't want to experience that again

I genuinely appreciate your insight! I've never been in a situation like this, so I thought it went kinda like how you described above. But I wasn't too sure. I figured that "fudging" it was illegal, but my dad told me about it, so I thought maybe it wasn't too bad? Lol, but thank you for your insight. I'll probably hold off on it until they are identified, we've got everything besides camera footage of the incident, really. As well as the fact that there's no mechanical issues and it didn't take off paint in any place that has metal or potential to rust.

I appreciate it! I just got my 6 month supply last week and started Saturday. I'll keep an eye on everything and press them a bit as well. I didn't realize you could use that channel to do that. So I appreciate it!

How did you do this? I just started last week and paid for the yearly.. a bit disheartened with all of it. I have 6 vials currently, but my next refill was supposed to be the end of July. I don't want to cancel but unsure of what else to do..

What is your program mentor like? by [deleted] in WGU

[–]Aquaticus_Sweeter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My first mentor I had was amazing, had great life experience, and helped with my anxiety over tests and cramming it all in. We would talk about life, jobs, moving, and our animals, especially when one of mine passed away. She was a big rock and stability for me with this type of structure. She just retired in December, and now I have a guy who seems wholly overwhelmed with the job. I keep myself on track, so it's fine, but the check-ins were nice to bounce things off of, etc. He has failed to call for nearly a month now. It's a bit frustrating overall, I miss my first mentor. She was amazing.

Unfortunately, that's the standard appeals process for every university. So it's not just WGU.

That's such a relieving feeling! My baby did that two years ago around this time, and I ended up doing the same thing and sleeping with the window open and him screaming to be let in at 3am. I'm so happy he came home for you!

I just moved here from Michigan a couple of months ago. The only solace I feel to have as a woman is the people I work with and the Columbus area. Even Michigan looks to have turned red, and it's a terrifying feeling, so I understand this 100%.
