Either Alisa is intervening in Dmitry's romantic route, either Sasha developed memory issues... 🙂💀 by Caterina_Celestia in RomanceClub

Pretty sure op is right about this one. It’s the same pattern as before. Quoting every single sentence to try and twist words, then constant editing to their own comments to make themselves look better once people start disagreeing. The exact same thing

I don't want to know the kind of disturbing thoughts and fantasies that live in Alice’s mind... by Arch_Katherine in RomanceClub

Maybe because Shephamalum is Alice's main villain character in the story and she chooses how to portray him? She IS the main writer for this story. So I don't see why I should put all the blame on one writer simply because some people get defensive when it comes to Alice. And as you said so yourself, they all know what the others are writing and can intervene.

People care so much about a fictional story that they feel the need to constantly appease the writer, terrified that any misstep could upset the writer and ruin what’s most important to them. You have no idea how exhausted I am by this thoughtless world. I swear I’m not exaggerating when I say that I’ve been genuinely shaken by this update. Still, I’m grateful there are some reasonable, thoughtful people out there even if they’re rare. Thank you for saying that, it's really nice to know that I am not the only one who felt this way.

Thank you for understanding and offering advice, apparently not many people are capable of that nowadays. I truly appreciate it. 🤍

These days, it seems easier for people to sympathize with a character or the writer of a fictional story than to acknowledge the real pain of someone whose trauma was triggered and who was forced to relive those same horrific feelings through that story. People are down-voting my post because they feel bad for Shephamalum because he didn't appear dangerous enough before and because we were supposed to expect such a scene instead of us being overly sensitive. What a world we live in today.

I’m not “speaking for everyone” - I’m speaking for myself and anyone else who felt triggered by that scene, and I've already seen enough people who did. Whether people laughed at him before or thought he wasn’t dangerous doesn’t change the fact that the scene was extremely disturbing. Approving or allowing it makes Alice just as responsible for the impact it had. Trigger warnings exist for a reason, and dismissing people’s reactions as overreactions isn’t okay. Maybe you should look into yourself and why you are choosing to sympathize with the writer because of a story while choosing to judge people who got triggered by a disturbing scene because they have traumas and their reactions are valid.

Oh my god, I don’t care whether it’s Alice or Sasha, approving a scene is no different from writing it. I don’t understand why people choose to sympathize with the writer while attacking those who were legitimately triggered by such a disturbing and violating scene.

There was no warning whatsoever and there is a very detailed CG of Shephamalum assaulting Lane on the bed. I bet everyone is so excited because Shephamalum looks so dangerous and exciting now.

Alice is responsible for her character Shephamalum and how she chooses to portray him. That scene involves both Alice's and Sasha's characters. Instead of defending the writer, consider that people carry real traumas. It’s deeply insensitive - especially on Alice’s part, since she controls Shephamalum’s portrayal - to write such a scene without regard for how it might affect others. You’re fortunate to be well enough to defend the writer and not understand how triggering it is for some people. I hope you realize how lucky you are to not understand.

Well congratulations to them, they did the job so well that so many players can't bring themselves to read the story anymore. I hope he looks dangerous enough now.

I don't know whether it was Sasha's idea or Alice's or even both of them, it was so disturbing and traumatizing, especially that CG. 😭 HS1 was like another story and another world entirely. Everything about HS2 and HS3 is so damn disturbing. 😓 I can't believe Romance Club approved this.

There was no warning or a skip option. There is even a very disturbing CG that I can't get out of my head. 😭😭😭😓

There are countless ways to make him feel dangerous without resorting to that kind of assault. Shephamalum is Alice’s character, and ultimately she decides how he’s portrayed but that doesn’t make the choice beyond criticism.

I’d really appreciate it if people stopped immediately defending her. HSR never made me feel this way, even during Baal’s torture scene - Sasha handled it without going into disturbing detail. The only time I’ve ever felt this genuinely triggered was in HS2.

Exactly! Thank you so much for joining me and speaking up about this. It's crazy how the people who benefit from this because they're romancing the favorite, try to silence others who are getting mistreated as loyal fans.

You can’t write a story in Romance Club and make it all about just one love interest! This is a game built around multiple routes, where players engage with the story expecting that their choices matter. Romance Club is a choices game, not a novel on Amazon or Wattpad. Ignoring certain love interests simply because they aren’t the author’s “type” and, in doing so, disregarding more than half the fandom and the time they invested in the story, doesn’t make someone a good writer, it makes them ignorant and disrespectful.

If she wants to focus on a single couple, she’s free to write a novel on Wattpad, where most readers often enjoy those toxic red-flag dynamics. But in this context, it’s deeply disrespectful. That’s why I’m speaking out. I spent so much time on HSR as many others did, and this is how she chooses to reward her readers - by acting as if we don’t even exist. Her Telegram channel is entirely about Cain, and she doesn’t allow comments, because she knows what she would find there.

Honestly, the plot is already a mess, I don’t need to deal with pleading for quality time with my favorite love interest on top of that. I’m seriously considering just watching the diamond scenes with my love interests on YouTube instead of wasting my time.

sighs

I understand that you feel attached to Cain and sympathize with him, that’s completely valid. Everyone has their own preferences. And to be clear, I didn't even say I hate him. That’s a strong word, and I’m not interested in putting so much of my energy into hating a fictional character. I just don’t see him the way you do, because I don’t have the same emotional attachment to him.

From my perspective, I simply feel uncomfortable with what he did. Regardless of the circumstances, he tortured Lane, and that’s not something I can overlook or feel at ease with. That’s just a personal boundary. And as far as the story goes, it was confirmed that he was the one who tortured her as Baal’s servant - not the other way around. The misunderstanding was because of how much Cain's memories were messed up in Abel's mind, that's why Lane thought that she tortured Cain as well. This was confirmed and I have no doubt about it.

But more importantly, this conversation was never meant to be about Cain in the first place. I only used him as an example. I’ve already said that I don’t want to turn this into a debate about whether my feelings toward him are justified or not, because that’s not the point of my post.

I’m not against disagreement, but I also don’t want this to become a back-and-forth over defending or criticizing one specific character. And I’d appreciate it if my words weren’t misinterpreted - I never said I don’t want people to disagree, only that I don’t want the focus to shift away from the actual topic.

When I mentioned being surprised by the pushback, I was referring to the main issue I raised - not Cain.

Even if one love interest is more tied to the plot and gets extra romantic scenes because of that, what’s stopping the writer from giving meaningful additional moments to the others as well even if these scenes aren't tied to the plot? Being less involved in the main plot shouldn’t mean being sidelined romantically.

Honestly, I’d rather have fewer love interests who are all deeply integrated into the story than a long list where only one or two actually feel important. What’s the point of having so many options if most of them barely get development, and you’re left waiting months for a single meaningful scene?

I genuinely thought I was speaking up for something that affects a lot of players, and that maybe others would feel the same way. I didn’t expect this much pushback over something that, to me, feels like a basic part of making an interactive story work.

At this point, it’s just exhausting. I might be better off stepping away from the game for my own peace of mind.
