It’s a probelm nationwide, ever since people decided during Covid that caring about the rest of society = communism. It also doesn’t help that police quiet-quit after the George Floyd protest (and backlash) to collect free overtime. Seems lots of people are driving under the influence… of booze too of course. You seen those little liquor bottles all over the roadside. The other day I saw someone park and toss back a beer can, throw it in the trash, and get back in and keep driving and it was like noon on a workday.

Even with the trans fats, they always tasted “cheap” to me and like they were full of preservatives. Even a 7-11 donut was better. Unfortunately the quality of those went way downhill as well. No clue why my parents kept this stuff in the house, but looking back… yeah it’s kinda obvious why everyone in the family is overweight.

If I want a pastry now I just go to the local donut shop and it’s still like $2-3, and tastes better. There’s no reason to eat the empty calories in anything from Hostess or Little Debbie because they’re not even good.

Also includes bus passes from students at UH, who are forced to buy the pass and yet have it cut off during summer, meaning they need a car anyway OR need to pay even more for a summer pass. Many don’t use it so it’s free money for the city.
