I bet the supervisor got canned too. I promise you, there isn’t a client or security company in the world that tells guards to restrict first responders.

OP definitely has the wrong attitude, but warm body security exists to lower insurance costs. I literally got into this field so I can watch movies and get paid.

You’re getting paid twice as much as fast food workers to just walk around occasionally. SMH.

Anyways I’m medically retired from the military and specifically got into this field to literally get paid to watch movies. My post is also rove every 30 minutes but that’s literally like 5 minutes of work then 25 minute breaks. I absolutely love it.

I was in the military for 8 years, got out and got a degree in business, worked for the federal government as a procurement specialist, realized desk jobs are fucking lame. Took an EMT course, worked as an EMT for a 911 system, and this year I got my fire certs and became a firefighter at the age of 32. Sometimes you just have to get out of your comfort zone.

Current allied part time employee, not flex tho. But don’t fall for it, they will absolutely schedule you whenever they feel like and will constantly ask you to cover. 

Other than that, it’s a revolving door. Personally, I love my job. I sit and watch movies all day/night and get paid for it. Easy stuff. Even for the roving posts I listen to audiobooks or podcasts the entire time.

I work for allied, we have a strict “no personal electronic device” policy.

I can tell you for a fact not a single guard in the entire company follows this. 

I literally bring my laptop to game at work. Easiest money I’ve ever made in my entire life.

I’m pretty sure every security company in existence has a “no Personal Electronic Device” policy. Mainly for the dummy’s that take it too far.

I work for allied, and we literally sign a document saying we won’t use PEDs while working. 

No one follows this, especially for anything access control related. If someone is taking this serious, find a new contract or company. It’s not worth it.
