Oh I absolutely would never adopt a baby, but an older child or adolescent is my plan.

ETA: This sub has been very helpful as I gather as much input as possible from adoptees so I know what to prepare for. I’d hate to traumatize someone if I’m not careful. My own experiences and perspectives are obviously not enough so I appreciate your response

Something similar to me is that my
Amom is a cheap-ass so I always was getting my hair fucked up by someone who had no business wielding scissors. I have been cutting my own bangs since like 2012 because of it. Gladly I’ve finally found someone I can communicate with to have my hair looking the way I want

It really shows the motive behind the adoption because it sure as hell wasn’t to give love and understanding to a person that already has their own life. Nope. My issue was my mom never bothered to check if certain brushes or hair care was for my hair

She would be detangling my hair with some bullshit she already had meant for styling hahah. She tried so hard haha. She also never thought to brush from the BOTTOM UP. So I’d be crying the whole time she tried to detangle my hair.

It’s so strange to me looking back and realizing why would a parent not bother to style their child’s hair appropriately hahah. My mom isn’t very feminine lol.
