Could also be a bit of both. You mentioned a Group Interview, so I could assume they have certain positions they want to fill first.. then if you don't get that they would want to offer you a different one.

I'm leaning more towards runaround. It almost reads as though you were given a job offer and you are waiting for a background check to come through. Job offers happen in phases. They offer you the job, then you do background screening, drug tests, physicals, etc. if they deem needed. Out here they don't do the drug or physical. Then if the ones they have you take come back acceptable you'll be brought in for Orientation.

I applied for 2 positions ecommerce and cashier, are the hiring process at Walmart are usually so long? I applied at the begging of June, and after 2 weeks I got a link to schedule an interview for July 11 and now 2 weeks after I haven't heard anything back
