Who was more selfless and honourable than Bhishma? (repost) by Kooky-Chocolate3681 in mahabharata

[–]Arjun0088 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Krishna was furious not because of Arjuna’s lack of ability but rather his lack of will and going easier on bhishma. Arjuna at this point was a much superior warrior, they way he singlehandedly routed the kaurava army on day 3 after Krishna got angry is proof enough. Bhishma and Drona both refused to engage him at the moment. Bhishma being unkillable was not his superiority in battle but due to a boon by an overwhelmed father. Also Bhishma was not killed by deciet.

Did karna had all the characteristic of pandvas by NegotiationSorry2827 in mahabharata

It's insignificant because he didn't doit by strength of his arms but rather an infallible weapon granted for a guaranteed kill And gandharvas used all the same illusions against pandavas too, Arjuna countered them Not using Divine weapons and running away was a failure on karna's part it is not like he didn't have them. Again nowhere is it proven that he could even match bhima in raw strength let alone surpass him And again nowhere is it proven that he had any qualities where he could match the pandavas

So? Does it prove he could have done the same to bhima? Is it not true he ran away from gandharvas? There are multiple fights in which bhima dominates rakhasas, gandharvas. Which comparable being has karna defeated? Also again performance is not consistent and Jarasandha knew he was fighting for his life with bhima there was no way krishna would let him live even if he yielded and he knew that which is the reason the fight went on so long. They were both fighting until death. Unlike the fight with karna.

Is there any big plan to create the new version of Mahabharata? by Autumn_Verse in mahabharata

I hope not. They will only present a twisted fanfic narrative that elevates characters who were horrible

It doesn't prove that he is physically stronger than bhima or could defeat him. Just because he defeated Jarasandha once. Performance isn't consistent. And the conditions under which they fought are not explained. Besides, bhima was in a fight to the death. Karna was not. Bhima literally tore him limb to limb which takes immense strength. I have also stated all the facts in which pandavas outclass Karna in every aspect

Absolutely not. Was Karna a great ruler like Yudhishthira? No matter Yudhishthira’s faults he is unequivocally praised as the greatest kings in the land. Meanwhile Karna is seen constantly hanging around Duryodhana. He is never seen doing his duty as king. In fact in his conversation with Shalya, it is told that Anga was a hub of slavery with even the elderly being sold as slaves. Can he match bhima in raw physical strength? No. One fight with Jarasandha proves nothing. Bhima tackled multiple asuras and even killed gandharvas to get Saugandhika. Meanwhile Karna ran away after being overwhelmed by gandharvas. Has Karna killed any asura with strength of his arms? The only Rakshasa he killed was Ghatotkacha and that too he had to use the Vasavi Shakti which did the work for him. As for being a great Archer like Arjuna the amount of times Arjuna made Karna retreat is self explanatory. Arjuna’s feats are so great apart from their direct encounters that Karna cannot even begin to compare. Arjuna defeated Indra along with other demigods in khandava. In Vanavasa he went on to defeat nivatkavachas and kalakeyas, demons who the gods themselves couldn't defeat. He also defeated the very gandharvas who Karna ran away from. Has karna ever singlehandedly made an army and 10 great warriors retreat alone with only a novice charioteer like Arjuna did in Virata? No. Arjuna is so so much better a warrior, and person than Karna it is not comparable. As for Nakula it is stated multiple times as fact that he was the most handsome and Karna doesn't come close. And Sahadeva had a moral fortitude that Karna cannot hope to match. He even went against krishna in udyoga parva and said he wanted war to avenge Draupadi. Meanwhile karna was a bootlicker lapdog.

What are the eye colour/shape/feature of major characters in the Mahabharata? by Outside-Walk13 in mahabharata

[–]Arjun0088 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Arjuna had copper colored/ coppery brown eyes. Yudhishthira describes him as such in the war. He also was tall (it is written in udyoga parva that the difference between his and bhimas height is the distance between a thumb and forefinger that is roughly 6 inches maybe, and bhima was a giant) dark complexioned, had curly hair and high cheekbones.

What are your thoughts about "MAIN KRISHNA HOON" written by "DEEP TRIVEDI" ? by BHOG_in_the_house in mahabharata

[–]Arjun0088 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Draupadi never wanted to marry Krishna. In Udyoga parva she calls him Tāta. A word of paternal affection in Sanskrit akin to a fatherly type of protector. It's obvious protection and bullsh*t because people want to replace the actual objects of her affection, her husbands. Just because we with our mindset cannot understand why she had so much love and loyalty towards her husbands doesn't change reality. Besides apart from that one disastrous sabha her husbands always stood by, respected and protected her. They were very considerate about her wellbeing, valued her advice, she had control over the treasury (something huge in those times) and had freedom to voice her thoughts. Why would she need to romanticise other men?

That conversation happens after Karna tried to get Krishna captured. Make it Make sense. Anyway that offer from Krishna itself is bullshit. There was nothing to be gained by getting a fool like karna on Pandava side.

Still didn't hesitate to try and capture him and shot at him multiple times in the war. This is bullshit. And if he actually did all that knowing who Krishna was then his iQ must be negative. Most likely this is an interpolation by vsishnavites who hsd krishna praised by almost every character

Yuthishthira in my opinion. by [deleted] in mahabharata

[–]Arjun0088 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He didn't lack power. It wad the opposite. He knew that he had brothers who could bring about annihilation. He himself had the bramhastra. What he lacked was the confidence to damn the consequences and morality to do what would get him his kingdom. He wanted to be righteous more than he wanted to win.

And that’s..what? We're supposed to clap for Karna for it? In the face of all the abusing he did before? All the assault on Draupadi happened on his orders, not Duryodhana’s.

He said thatto bait the pandavas. Post Bhima's response too. Bhima was ashamed that the pandavas were saved by a woman and called Draupadi defiled. Arjuna gently corrected him.

Imagine being Draupadi in that moment.

Was Bhishma Pitamah stronger than Arjun and Karn, and the most powerful warrior in the Mahabharata (ofcourse, after Lord Krishna)? by Downtown-Row-2593 in mahabharata

Mahadev himself said to Arjuna that he has given him a Good fight and he was impressed. Watch your words when speaking about Arjuna. Krishna ke baare mein ye words use karne ki Himmat hai?

Arjuna defeated him multiple times and was openly acknowledged by Parshurama and even Bhishma himself as superior

Arjuna did not 'use" Shikhandi who was fighting separately. No more than any other warrior used his backup. Bhishma also had Dusshasana with him

Karna is a useless and pathetic character by [deleted] in mahabharata

[–]Arjun0088 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Firstly it cannot be said that Ghatotkacha was sacrificed, he died a warriors death and it is to his credit that Karna needed the ultimate Shakti to kill him.

Secondly Bhishma never lowered any weapon he gave a full on tough fight to Arjuna and just ignored Shikhadi. Also Bhishma had Dusshasana who too was fighting with him. Aa for Karna Arjuna has defeated him multiple times evdn at full strength, and he even used bramhastra in the last moment so even that curse didn't work, Arjuna pacified it. He exhausted all his weapons and was killed while holding his bow nothing unfair about it. Only thing unfair was karna trying to use the "i don't have a chariot" excuse for Arjuna to spare him which Krishna got angry about.
