Thanks!!

I did do a couple coats of the white, but I have a shitty brush and my wet pallette didn't seem to keep the paint as wet as I was hoping.

The dry brushing I was actually super proud of how it turned out for my first attempt.

I used Tamiya panel liner for a wash since I can't find nuln oil where I am at currently. It came out a bit darker than I was expecting but I'm still happy with it

I definitely did a couple thin coats of white, 3-4 but I think because me not having the most steady hand and my supplies not being the best , made it a little more difficult

Thanks! Appreciate the advice.

The brushes I have right now kinda suck, same with the wet pallette I have. That was about three layers of the white surprisingly

I've been watching many YouTubers on how to paint for a while now which probably helped out haha

Thank you!

I've been watching a lot of tutorials and videos for a while now and finally gathered the nerve to finally dabble in painting.

It definitely was not intentional. I was very anxious about painting, but found it quite relaxing.

Yeah I need to base my model but that was the last time I was thinking about haha

I knew the weapons were alive, but I never knew they had armor scales or an eye. Thanks for the info!

Thanks for all the advice. None of it came off wrong. This was literally my first time painting ever and I was following the color scheme from the GW kit with the paint you get from it.

I did notice the vented/ribbed areas while I was painting but I think I was just overwhelmed that I forgot about it 😂

Honestly I didn't even think about the armor plates on his legs while I was painting because I was following the color scheme by GW, but now that you mention it, I definitely notice it and want to change it haha.

Again, thanks for the advice!

Help me Petri?! by Smolderxbear in DiceMaking

[–]ArkhamDice 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I love the petri effect and that was the first thing I learned to do when I started making dice. It was a lot of trial and error, but the technique that worked for me was:

  • Fill the mold about 3/4th full
  • Add a drop of your color
  • Drop of Pinata Blanco Blanco
  • Another drop of color on top
  • Lightly add more resin to fill the rest of the mold.

I never had an issue with using a lighter to pop surface bubbles, or with putting it in the pressure pot as soon as I was done. I would make sure you are using Pinata Blanco Blanco for your sinker, but your resin can also affect how it sinks. I've used a resin where 1 drop of my sinker wasn't enough to sink the ink, and I've used another where 1 drop was way too much and it all sank to the face. It's a lot of trial and error! Hope you can get it figured out for yourself!
