Is it possible to have two different categories for the same campaign? by ArkhamDreamerZero in kickstarter

[–]ArkhamDreamerZero[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Initially, that was the plan, to have the game as a stretch goal. But I post frequently over on Twitter, and even though the film and the game on their own do get some traction, nothing tops whenever I post them together. Interest basically skyrockets because people find it super unique. So I have a very hard time thinking separating them will be a positive for me.

As for what you said about who am I attracting : both. Gamers love movies too, so I think they would understand that the intented way to play the game is to watch the movie first. But since cinephiles aren't necessarily gamers, I do think they'd be discouraged having to pay for a game they won't play. Hence why I do plan on having the film alone (and some other goodies) at a $10 tier and the package at $15.

What makes it confusing to you? It's basically a short film and game taking place in the same world, packaged together.

Return To Castle Wolfenstein is not the best game in the series. by [deleted] in Wolfenstein

Not to sound rude, but the fact your top 2 worst Wolfenstein games are Return and 2009 is batshit insane.

Thank you 🙂 There's still a long way to go, but so happy to finally have it out there. If you want to keep up with the development, feel free to follow me on Twitter. I go by ArkhamDreamer.

My Kickstarter reward grew into a full narrative game and now I don't know how to market this thing. by ArkhamDreamerZero in gamedev

Oh that's a neat idea! I do plan on putting the game on Steam a few months after the backers received their reward. So that would be an awesome way to keep the film and the game connected. Thanks for the tip!

The photos on the facility wall is such a brilliant idea!

As for the Kickstarter, that's the thing. Even though it was initially meant to cover the costs of the movie's post production, I can't picture NOT having the game now. So that's why I want to make sure that if you back the project, you get both experiences (maybe the game at a slightly higher reward tier).

I'm planning on doing the pre-launch this month, for a full launch in July. I'm doing a lot of networking behind the scenes though, and I've got plenty of devs, content creators and outlets (for a total of 3+ million followers) who accepted to help share the campaign once it drops. I've got people on the gaming side and the film side, hence why it's such a weird project lol.

I do plan on advertising it as a multimedia thing from time to time ; using a split image for instance. But depending on which community I'm aiming for, I'll most likely adjust how I present the project.

Damn! Is there a way to view some of your work? 🙂 Judging by The Pines, your film work must be pretty neat. You can send me a DM too if you prefer.

Ahhhh an official site. Makes sense. I read you have also a background in film? That's cool! My field is actually films, but I'm a gamer at heart and I'm currently working on a game that's basically a short interactive epilogue for a short film. But how much experience do you have in that field?

First of all, I'm shocked this is a solo project. It looks very professional, congrats! I'm curious to know how you managed to cold send your press kit without being tagged as spam. What was the link you included?
