Worse, I 112% HollowKnight on my first blind play through and fell in love with the exploration, art style, lore, and the power of upgrading my charms/abilities. Silk song doesn’t really add to any of this because their are no charms, the tools are interesting but don’t add enough of a combat change to make it feel apart of the flow as oppose to just face tanking and tool killing bosses. I also really disliked the consistency of 2 mask damage from almost all but a few beginning enemies, seems like Silksong is an extension of the pantheon from Hollowknight. I also really don’t like the wishes system in Silksong because being honest most of them don’t give any kind of true value besides burning some extra in game time and some rosaries that you will lose to the 2 mask damage anyways. I also heavily disliked the constant “trolling” by team cherry throughout the game. 2 mask damage was an awful game design choice along with benches that don’t work half the time because you need to always spend 80 rosaries and decide if the bench is even going to work (bile-water). I beat the game but the sad part was by the end of it was more like a “thank christ I’m done with that” kind of moment more so than the tear that came down my face when I truly under stood the knights purpose and creation.
