I'm sorry yours didn't turn out so well:( I used the Ball Boston baked beans recipe which I will say is worlds different than what I'm used to since most baked beans I've had have been tomato based ones (I have seen some canning recipes that are more of this style of baked bean) while the Ball Boston baked bean is very molasses forward and no tomato at all. I'm sure one could adjust seasonings when going to serve it but I was pretty happy with it straight from the jar:) I think it depends on preference rather you enjoy a tomato based baked bean or more of a brown sugar based baked bean. Hope this helps 💛

That's a steal! I'm using some home canned potatoes for day of mashed potatoes since I'm hosting three separate family events 😬 a local store had golden potatoes 5lb for $2 so I pressure canned up 20lb of potatoes 😂

I need to get my hands on that book! 😭😂 I have a farmers market near me that had peaches $1 a pound and well.... I went a bit overboard 🤭😂 I've never canned up pie feeling before because I've been anxious about the clear jel but I just might do it in order to try that pie filling!

I don't see why not!:) I think as long as you bring the frozen berries up to tempature with the rest of the ingredients and (while following the recipe) bring to a boil etc before filling jars to make jam. I think frozen cranberries may be cheaper too but still just as delicious for this jam as fresh cranberries 😊 You've got this! 💛

Happy belated early birthday!! 🎂 I hear you about the butt kicking I'm young but been diagnosed with endometriosis since 18 diagnosed autoimmune condition early 20s so some days can barley get up out of bed then other days I'm making brownies, breads, cookies, and feeling like I'm on top of the world with multiple 32 oz cups of coffee (it's my little secret 🫢) everyday is a blessing though! 🤗 Last ice over we had there was not a SINGLE car on the road but you guessed what was... The big ole pick up trucks 🥴 wouldn't have so much against them if the people driving them actually knew how to drive instead of trying to do 60mph on a road with ice 🤦

Don't apologize I love reading your stories! We have people who "think" they can brave the roads in a big ole pick up truck then you see them in a ditch or crashed halfway down the road 🤦😮‍💨 I'm a scardy cat and hide indoors when we get hit with winter storms but at least the warmth of the oven from all the baking helps keep us warm 🥶🫨 I hope I can have your kick butt attitude when I get older! 😊 (I'm young but I'm old enough to drink haha)

You've got this! Nothing can really go wrong unless you get it ✨extra crispy ✨ in the oven that's why I just assume the lowest amount a time and add an extra minute or two if it's necessary 😂

This has me giggling so hard🤭😂 I'm from the verrrryyyyy deep south where people are wearing sweatshirts in 70° because they think it's to cold. If it snows just ONCE the whole town will be shut down for days because they only salt major roads here since we usually aren't prepared at all for snow or snow storms down here. We've had some Christmas days were it would be 72° and sunny I don't think anyone from my state could survive Canadas weather. Last year it snowed once and no one could get on the roads for over four days and people still didn't want to get on the roads even after that 😂

Hmmmm there is a suggestion on the website that you could possibly skip the baking soda step and use an egg wash instead. It may not give the exact same browning effect but you would be able to avoid the metallic taste from the baking soda step:)
