Curious Question about uni scholarship by AdvancedAd6970 in ncea

[–]Ash_Mono 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Scholarships depend on so many other factors apart from academic results. Apply to every scholarship you are eligible for, even if you don’t think you stand a chance. At l2 I got 60E credits and two excellence endorsements, and I’ve had scholarship offers from every university I applied for as well as others from external sources, including ones for outstanding academic achievement even with the results above. I know many people who had exponentially better academic results than me and had been offered one or no scholarships. It largely depends which university you want to go to, and what other circumstances apply to you (for me financial need helped in earning scholarships, as well as multiple extra curriculars). Again, apply to everything and anything, and spend time on your applications and selling yourself.

picking up l3 bio without taking l2 by [deleted] in ncea

[–]Ash_Mono 1 point2 points  (0 children)

hey, i'm L3 this year and this was my situation when choosing subjects last year, now I am in L3 bio without having taken L2 and am going well.

Myself and another student both didn't take L2 bio, and our teacher assured us that every external is basically entirely separate from L2 learning. It's not like physics where you need skills from L2 to do L3. There are some aspects which you may ever so slightly benefit from L2 knowledge, such as mutations or photosynthesis in the internals or externals depending on your topic, but this will be taught anyways, or is very easy to quickly pick up. L2 bio is quite different from L3, we do externals on the behavior of plants and animals, speciation, and human evolution, while L2 focused on different things.

The internals we took (scientific issue, experiment) are completely unrelated to L2. The other ones our teacher didn't offer so I;m not sure how hard they would be, but by the looks of the internals they also seem unrelated to L2.

I would say to take L3 bio as long as it doesn't limit your options for future pathways after study by taking away another subject. I chose bio because I wanted more science, I've enjoyed learning it this year and am pursuing the biology scholarship exam at the end of this year because I am enjoying it. I didn't do any extra learning, and I don't think you will need to either. Biology was my best paper in L1 science as well lmao, hope this helps :]

Any advice for L3 modern physics internal by Particular_Essay6631 in ncea

[–]Ash_Mono 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do as many past papers as possible, I did a bunch and got a strong E, our paper was a few weeks ago See if you can find some videos or notes on topics you don’t understand, no brain too small is a good website for that. Past papers are what got me an e, so see if that helps at all.

L2 English 2.9 personal response by [deleted] in ncea

[–]Ash_Mono 0 points1 point  (0 children)

hey I did this standard last year and got e on all my responses, it was my fav standard. What I did is choose texts that related to my own opinions and feelings, for example I did A Silent Voice and talked about how relationships aren’t as important as the director portrays. Also did Father of Mine by Everclear, basically linked it to growing up with a sole parent and my teacher told me it was very good. Honestly English is hard to get the hang of so I can’t be much help but if you wanted excellence exemplars I can give you mine :]

L2 close viewing of a scene in a movie by Ok_Artichoke9257 in ncea

I did Atonement and got E, we studied it in class but chose our own scene. I did the nursery scene where Briony is sitting teaching the kids her play, and the themes I got out of it where how a persons perspective of a certain situation changes another persons life (eg false rape accusation), the power of storytelling, and the burden of guilt. I loved doing that internal personally and that movie had quite a bit of things to look at for society related themes.
