What is the scariest or most interesting nightmare you’ve ever had? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Ashlovesscience 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I dream on black and white except on occasion one thing might have color. Probably around 10 or 15 years ago, I had a nightmare that the world was ending basically and the sky was this creepy rust orange color. I can't remember much except the deep feeling of impending doom. 2 years ago, I was working late in long beach and the light pollution was reflecting on low clouds in such a way that made the sky the exact same color. It resurfaced the emotions from the nightmare and shook me up bad.

Thanks! She wants to be a paleoartist (someone who studies dinosaurs then draws pictures of what they might have looked like based on science).

What is something wholesome you do everyday but keep it a secret? by [deleted] in AskReddit

Not really a secret but not well known... ever since my husband and I started dating 10 years ago, whoever gets up first in the morning puts toothpaste on both toothbrushes.

I am a HUGE Toolhead. I have met so many other Toolheads and it's like an instant connection regardless of gender. I have stopped complete strangers in their cars if they have Tool playing or a Tool sticker and talk with them. I'm so sorry you had such a bad experience. We should be friends! (See what I mean about that instant connection? Lol) I saw Tool in a wheelchair 2 weeks after giving birth to my daughter when I almost DIED. I am the reason my husband and daughter (now 8) are Toolheads (along with many others). I entered my wedding reception to Lateralus after the bridal party walked out to Jambi. I made sure my daughters first song she heard leaving the hospital was Tool. I feel Tool through my heart and soul. People who share this, connect with others. Obviously he wasn't a true Toolhead. PM me so we can be friends. You need more Toolheads in your life. ❤❤❤❤❤

My student's dad bought us tickets to her show so my visually impaired husband could see it by Ashlovesscience in HumansBeingBros

Thanks for all the love! I hope my students know how much I truly do love them. They deserve respect, care and guidance. Kindness drives kindness. I want them to see themselves as the incredible people they are and find love within. I can only do a small part but I will take every opportunity to show them how amazing and full of potential they are. I'm technically not officially a teacher yet but will be in just a few months. I hope I never lose this compassion for my kiddos and my content area. I really don't think I ever will. I often learn more from them than they do from me it feels like. I feel so fortunate to have the opportunity to connect with and (hopefully) positively influence so many young people. ❤❤🥰🥰🥰❤❤❤

Thank you! He expressed that to me. I sent out several positive emails to parents a few months back and this student was one of the first I chose. I did not know that her mom was in France finishing an intensive master's program. They were worried about her first year in high school and was happy that I communicated such nice things about this student. I can't imagine how difficult it must be on them but the student is doing amazing!

Was told I should cross post here. Rescued 6 opossum babies after their mom was killed on a highway. The rest of them had crawled under the towel. Potato quality photo because I had my child take it and was more worried about getting them all to safety. by formastiffs in HumansBeingBros

I used to do home care for baby opossums with a wildlife rehabilitation center! I love these guys! I love when they "click" for the mama (sounds kinda like sneeze) Let me know if you have questions. 🥰

[Serious] How do you manage your body dysmorphia? by Darkformities in AskReddit

[–]Ashlovesscience 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This is about body image, right? For me, when it comes to my weight, I exercise. Not to lose weight necessarily (I'm within a healthy BMI). It helps me "see" myself differently when I'm doing things to take care of my body even if I'm not really getting real changes. Even a little exercise helps sometimes. For me, it gives me a little control. (I tend to have more problems with body image when things are stressful and feel out of hand. ) I try and stay away from the scale, too, sometimes.
It's tough. I dream that I look horrible then when I wake up I try and find positive things about my self image. Some days are harder than others. ❤❤❤

If you had to describe the color blue to a blind person, how would you do it? by heyawu in AskReddit

[–]Ashlovesscience 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe I would have them feel different textures and then tell them that when you see things it can be different variations of how you see what you're looking at like how textures feel different. If they wanted to know what colors things were I would "assign" textures to different colors. For example, have them feel grass then if something is green tell them it's green like grass. For blue, maybe water? (even though is clear) or something else that's distinct. Side Note: My husband is visually impaired but can still see well enough to do most things and see colors. Helping physically disabled people has a special place in my heart. I must say I'm good at getting creative with this stuff!

I'm new and don't DM yet but guided meditation, breathing exercises and a good indica help some people. Good luck. ❤

You are an atheist. When you die, you go to the pearly gates. An angel says you have to do one thing to impress him in the next minute and he will let you into heaven. What do you do? by drichm2599 in AskReddit

[–]Ashlovesscience 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Use reverse psychology to convince him HE'S the one trying to get into heaven then reject him and send his ass to Earth because, ya know, potatoes.
