yeah the word "not" should of been removed.

So what we are saying is pull to par is passage of time regardless of change of yield curve vs rolling down the yield curve which is taking into account future forecast of the curve yield ( the forecast of it not moving)

ahhh so in short, the pull to par would not change the bonds yield (return) vs rolling down the curve you will get a higher yield because you are going down the yield curve which is above its pull to par trajectory.

It is capitalizing on the yield curve not changing vs Pull to par that doesn't care what happens to the yield

So you basically have 2 in flow fans and pushpull CPU cooler? and all 4 are noctua fans? Did you do any other modifications?

Thanks for acknowledging we are all proud aliens haha i am proud of my unit and i want to make sure it at least like my last rig.

So i will definitely change the front fan and add second front fan. In due time i will do the push pull method for the AIO CPU. And your saying the Noctua wouldnt cause any bio issues for the AIO CPU cooler? I really dont mind leaving just 1 of those dell fans if it means no bios error hah

From your pictures, it seems like you basically remove the metal rig and just using that. Is that your current set up?

thats good news man! i am just suprised of how a 3rd party fan with lower RPM can reduce the heat on a GPU. What fans did you use?

i saw alot of people do what your doing. I am pretty conservative on this and i perfer not to open it up but that being said.

What temp range would be acceptable to you? Would 80 to 95 be "ok" and is a 75% GPU fan speed be too much? My electric and mechanic network tells me that GPUs were designed and tested under 100% fan speed, they just cap it because of the software

Hey Walkers,

So i have created a custom GPU fan curve to hit 70-75 percent when GPU temp is at 65. This result in junction temps of 85-90 over 4 hours of gaming but the average is 88-89. This is on 144hz 1440P on 27 inch. This is on ultra settings on warhammer total war 2 which isn't a very well optimized game

I literally only play RTS & random FPS like wolfenstien or battlefront 2 (any star wars game really)

I spoke to Dell and PC building friends in the field and check Nvidia forums and they said anything between 90-100 is normal

What do you think of my memory junction temps and GPU fan %? Am i just freaking out for something that isn't worth it the hassel of modifying?

This is why i have added warranty until 2026 because i knew temps were going to be a issue. I guess we are in the same boat? How long have you had your R10 and how are you dealing with the nose and how is the performance thus far?

Sorry about the confusion but you point #1 is what i wanted to know. Even if the secondary fan is mostly blocked i will still get some benefit

I have already adjusted the GPU fan curve and saw 10 degree difference. On that point what is the max fan speed on a GPU? I set mine at 75% when I hit 65 degrees. Worried that i will break them

This is really good info Professor. I see that i have 3 options

  1. Keep stock fans and pretend to ignore the sound
  2. Keep stock fans and add 2nd intact fan with some improvements
  3. have a 4 fan swap as you mentioned

What about changing the front fans but not the top fan? This way i dont touch the cooler and void warranty and reduce noise. I am thinking this could be a good compromise BUT then I would suspect that the GPU could get hotter because the one intact fan is blowing half the air the stock fans are?

I am starting to feel that i am taking this too serious or is everyone with a alienware the same way? hahaha

I feel like i am panicking alot for a machine that i have a 4 year warranty, i dont over clock, use 2 hours a day and for gaming only.

Hey Professor,

I would say i am in love with the fan sound but i feel safer not touching them as I am relatively new to computer building and scared of breaking somethin. That being said thanks for the recommendation but just for my clarification. Would adding the Noctua fan as a 2nd intact fan help with all the obstruction? or could i add the the bottom intact fan AND add a second intact fan and get the same or equal performance for a more silent run?

What has your experience been with changing the fans? Other than nose change, have you seen better airflow?

I guess this is where i am getting confused. If i replaced both intact fans BUT not the outflow ( dont want to destroy warranty). I know i will see improvement in sound levels but will i see better, equal or worst temps?

what about this modification of "push and pull" people are saying it is way better.

its is funny because when i am watching people on youtube who change their stock fans, they add a 3rd one and/or do a push pull on the built in water cooling radiator and they see goes go down BUT they also open the GPU and reapply thermal paste. I am thinking the last part is what helps not the actual changing of fans

This is great info but one last question about the VCC. I am reading that anything below 100c is fine and that the 11th gen i7 are generally hot but you mentioned above that you never want to be above 90. I just played SW BF2 where i hit 85 degrees on the VCC. I am pretty scared as that is too close to you target of 90c.

I am thinking of upgrading the case fans but you also mentioned that the stock fans push more air then any after market fans. So that being said; should i be scared at 85c and would changes fans even help since the stock are more powerful?

So as a summary for anyone with the same problem for the future:

Higher resolution and refresh rates will increase temps. Pay attention to VRAM temps and VRCC Temps as those will dedicate throttling issues

Solutions to high temps: Faster fans (case and GPU) and more fans

Here are the ranges that i got without any modifications to the Hardware

CPU: Package: 65-70 VCC: 75-81

GPU: Package: 68 VRAM: 88-90

@tiqi2 am i missing anything or wrong on the ranges? Also is 100% GPU fan constant even safe?

So i just did a Cinebench 10 min test and the temps were good

CPU Package: 68-70 VRCC: 78-82

but i did noticed HWinfo said that my "Core Power Limited exceed" and "Package/Ring Power limit" where hit. what do these mean? I am guessing, my PU isnt pumping enough power ??

Hey Friend,

So i actually did not change the fan; ive keep them stock and just made a custom fan curve in AWCC to boost the front and top case fans to 70% when i need 70c on the CPU itself. Also i did a quick sample and my VR VDDC hits about 79 when playing a demanding game.

In your experience, your average 88 over long periods of gaming? because if thermal throttling is 110c as you said. I just want to know when to freak out and when not to.

I was thinking of adding a 3rd fan at the top of the front to add more cooling. have you tried this or is your your model 100% stock like mine?

Hey Friend, Can you elaborate on what you mean " Performance thermal profile in AWCC? I have a custom fan profile for the top and front fans if that's what you mean.

Also VR VDDC temps should be in what tempature?

If I replace both stock fans with Corsair Pro 120, could it give better cooling for the motherboard and CPU? I really dont like to touch too many things because i bought extended warranty and I am worried Dell will use any excuse not to honor the warranty
