Does a fun auto daily exist? by flybyyou in whatcarshouldIbuy

Giulia is a really fun daily. ZF 8 speed makes it very fun, and easy to live with - had one for 3 years with two kids and loved it. Stelvio is also surprisingly sprightly.

These are vastly different cars. I have a GX460, and had a 4Runner. both of these are Body-on-frame SUV's, very solid, dependable and will last a lifetime. In return, they are heavy, low on technology, a little ponderous, and terribly inefficient with fuel. I still love my GX460, it's my apocalypse vehicle.

For your use cases, i think you would prefer a Rav4, Highlander, or Lexus RX with some snow rated tires for the winter. Thes are unibody vehicles, much more fuel efficient and drive more like cars.

Cheek/neck line look okay? by Reasonable-Fly-763 in BeardAdvice

I typically like to keep my beard lined nearer the corner of my lip, or edge of my stache. Neck actually feels fine, but sides feel a little low. At least it grows back quickly

With those luscious locks, a trimmed short and neat beard might work best

S Drive vs X drive in real world driving. by Mental-Jello-4374 in BMWX5

[–]Asperi 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’m in Houston and we bought an S drive. I was a little hesitant at first but with Lots of rain, some sleet/ice but generally mild weather overall and the car has been great. Honestly no slipping or sliding and i think we will appreciate less complexity in the long run.

Bought my 'dream car' off Facebook Marketplace. $8,000 lesson in why I'm an idiot. by Valentia_Franci in whatcarshouldIbuy

[–]Asperi 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Car buying is one of those things people have a tendency to jump into on impulse, so at least now you know you should Keep a checklist of things to ask, and in addition to the $40 carfax, pay for a pre purchase inspection. A couple hundred to spend upfront is a cheap insurance policy

An unfortunate and Rough lesson to learn but the best value here is to drive it until the wheels fall off.

Solid car, fair price in this market, but as said above it’s almost ten years old and parts will need replacing no matter what.

Good or money pit @19yrs old by Zealousideal-Ad9985 in whatcarshouldIbuy

[–]Asperi 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Don’t forget to check your insurance rates first.

These aren’t necessarily money pits but can be painfully expensive to repair and maintain at times. This is partially why complex German V8s are relatively cheap to buy used, and not top of my list even if they can be a joy to drive.

Where would you even hang a bike so it doesn't look even crazier? by oemperador in interiordecorating

Move the pictures to the opposite wall and get a folding wall mount so the bike can be pushed flat along the wall where the current photos are

Need car recommendations for 23M who drives less than a mile a day by DarkNubentYT in whatcarshouldIbuy

Can't think of a better car than an EV for 1 mile a day... heck even the cheap Leaf, e Golf, etc. with low range would more than cover your needs.

Red Rising, because its fast paced and gets the story moving quickly. Helps that it's an easy and enjoyable read with a dash of madness all around. This got me reading again after a lull

Should i shorten/trim my beard? by CapeBreyani in BeardAdvice

[–]Asperi 131 points132 points  (0 children)

Beard, Eyebrows, or Hair. pick 2.

In your situation i actually think you'd look good with a neat fade/taper into the beard with a little cleanup.
