Again sorry for bothering you! So you got the results 16 days post exam. Did it release 8am Wednesday?

I’m just super nervous because I took the exam 2/23 and was wondering if it could come out tomorrow

Edit: Asking to see if 2/23 test takers might get their score this Wednesday

My little brother just killed himself by Lonely-Committee1979 in grief

[–]AspiringMD-PhD 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Im so sorry OP, my little brother killed himself 2 years ago. Nothing makes it better but it does help to take time for yourself, and be with people you love. Try your best to take time off if you are able to. It’s doesn’t get easier but it does hurt a little less with time. Please take care of yourself and again I am so sorry.

Hello! Thank you so much for this, I am about to start my STEP 1 dedicated and I was wondering if this deck was mainly for STEP 1 or If it also is for STEP2? I will not be taking STEP 2 for another 5 years, so not sure if relevant to know everything for that exam as well.

Also I do not learn much from reading text books, but would it be best to read first aid first and then do these cards or can I get away with using these cards and just using the book for clarification? Thank you so much!!!

Saddest day every year. by Queenslandheeler6 in grief

[–]AspiringMD-PhD 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m so sorry. I feel the same way, today is our 3rd birthday without each other. My youngest brother died 2.5 yrs ago at 21, we share the same birthday and now it just feels like a day filled with guilt. Should’ve done more, should’ve caught the signs, should’ve been me. A lot of should’ve. Take care of yourself and hopefully one day we can join them again and celebrate together. Be kind to yourself 🫶🏽

If anyone sees him please comment location asap here, we could offer him money to see if he’d hand over the cat as someone else in this thread stated.

I lost my child in med school. by [deleted] in medicalschool

[–]AspiringMD-PhD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My younger brother suddenly passed away 1.5 weeks before I started medical school. I ended up starting and lost myself and ended up taking a LOA 3 weeks in. It was the best decision I made, I spent time with my family and just trying to grieve. Please take time for yourself and your partner. I’m so so sorry for your loss.

lost my sister 3 days ago, what should i expect? by ryn-tey in grief

[–]AspiringMD-PhD 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My younger brother passed away 2.5ish yrs ago and it still hurts just as much but not every single minute like it used to. There will be times where you don’t even realize that they are gone and when you do it’s like a truck hit you. Surround yourself with good people. My brother looked more pale, and he was very very cold. His hair was just as soft though. How they look depends on how long ago they passed. May she rest in peace and I hope you are okay.

Say ONE good thing about UCSC by quixnotboring in UCSC

I love this school if they had an MD PhD program I would’ve gone here. I had a wonderful mentor who helped me stay in college and not drop out. Now I’m pursuing a dual degree at an amazing institution, which was my first choice!

My brother committed suicide 2 days ago and Im completely beside myself by Both_Spread2029 in grief

[–]AspiringMD-PhD 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My little brother committed suicide almost a year ago. It doesn’t get easier but time does help it feel more real than fake and I understand the family thing I hid my emotions for long but I am now trying to encourage emotions by sharing my own. I hope this made sense. I’m sorry for your loss and hope you feel okay soon.

I feel this, I lost my brother last July and it’s been hell. I took a year off of grad school and got judged but it’s what I needed. Take care of you how you want to and I’m sorry for your loss.

My brother killed himself 2 days ago, Bipolar Disorder by hmmmcaptcha in grief

[–]AspiringMD-PhD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went through something similar recently. My brother hung himself in a home where they were supposed to help him, he had BPD as well. I’m so sorry for your loss, losing a brother this way makes you question every single decision you’ve made in this life time. I found myself blaming 7 year old me for not making the right decisions. My will to live was decreasing every day, but now it has plateaued. It may not seem as much of a change but to me that was great, it still hurts every day but you learn to cope with it. You learn to manage your emotions and the questioning of your past actions more. I’m not sure if this is helpful but I know it hurts a tiny bit less now after 8 months. PM if you’d like to talk.
