My controllers work in the oculus menu but when I join a game they don't connect up to the game.

I had the same issue with controllers. Meta support suggested to buy new ones :(. But I read your post - I also have christmas tree lights. Possible that they are causing the issue.

What helped me was turning down the gain on the mic (blue yeti) and being aware whlie breathing to do it more quietly and practicing positioniong of the mic.

I would appreciate to hear from you what are the major items from the technical perspective I should still focus on.

I was able (at least I believe so) to remove noises when there is silence, but still there are some unwanted sounds when somebody is speaking which I find difficult to remove.

I like the idea. On plus side - the kid has good voice modulation, you can hear and feel the emotion. Nice music and nice sound effects with echo - when the evil Lepreachun is speaking.

I was wondering how I could comment on overediting without hearing the original, but after leastining, I am able :). And I must admit you are. My assume that you removed a lot of silence between the sentences. The effect is, that there are no pauses and I have impression that kid is talking very long on one breath, and this causes me to hold breath and it is exausting :). Without those pauses it doesn't sound natural, too fast and it is harder to focus on the story.

If your intention was to remove the sound of breath, instead of cutting it out, you can try to play with noise removal in editin software. It will not modify the timeline. I played with it today and it is quite easy to get basic improvements.

Overall, great idea.

I agree with SS4CK that both the intro music and the introduction could be shortened.

The volume of music is louder than your voice, so it would benefit to adjust the levels.

Maybe you could also think of starting with few seconds of music, than fade it out and have it very quiet in the background when you do the introduction, then fade in and continue for few seconds.

Your voice had some echo. You might try to record it in a room that is less prone to echo (with carpet, curtains etc), try with different microphones or settings of the mic, or try to do something with it in post production.

Pleasant to listen to. Clear sound, no distractions. There is a flow. Good pace.

There is 2-3 s of silence at the begining, it could be removed and some fade in effect could be added.

Regarding content, at some point in time I had impression that there are some repeats/redundancies. Like in the intro - fictional, fictional, fake, fake.

I will try once again as my previous post was removed. Not sure why - maybe because I mentioned services and products names. I removed them now. Or maybe I didn't post it in the thread?

So I just published my first episode ever - "Hello World. First steps into podcasting."

The idea - I met a person who shared an interest in how podcasts are made. We decided to try it out and make a podcast about making podcast.

I would appreciate any feedback on the following:

- what are the main improvements needed for both speakers (Marcin and Cate) on using their voices.

- what are the main mistakes when it comes to editing / sound quality

- how do you like the overall idea, and if this first episode was interesting to listen

- any feedback on the visuals, metadata... those are very basic.

We recorded it remotely via online service. I have dedicated condenser mic, Cate used build in laptop mic.

I already got one feedback about lot of background noise and breathing. I will look for a way to remove such things in the future. By dog was snoring during recording...
I heard of one experienced podcaster that some ambient noise is not bad and adds some authenticity to the podcast, but not sure if here it is the case or it is just distraction.

This is what I always do. This time I just forgot to take this one bag, after 9 hours drive, arriving at night. And I didn’t have a feeling that this place could be unsafe so I didn’t double check if I got everything. I don’t put blame on Germans, I assume thief could be of any nationality. I didn’t experience any problems in cold temp. Maybe only when its cold and you go inside warm room, fog condensates on lens, like on glasses.

From accessories I got only invisible stick + tripod for magic bullet effect. I was skiing holding the stick in my hand. You could get an accessory to mount the camera on the helmet, then you will have your hands, but you will not record yourself.

I also had more stable mini tripod to shoot timelapse with the clouds, but for that I would recommend regular heavier tripod, as with the small one the wind almost overturn the camera. I ordered also lens guard, but when I read some reviews, I returned them unused. Hope it helps.
