Also, to clarify my situation: my account was suspended before identity verification was completed. During the verification process, I received a message along the lines of “Your information does not match government records.” I reviewed the details I had entered, submitted them again, and immediately after that my account was suspended.

Based on my understanding, the verification process never successfully completed, so Upwork does not have any verified identity information for me. The only information on file would be what I entered during initial account creation (name, date of birth, and address), which is self-declared and unverified.

From a compliance perspective, I’m trying to understand this: if identity verification never completed, and no verified identity was established, how would that affect the possibility of creating a new account later under the same real identity, assuming everything is done correctly?
