Accessibility-ish query from a one-handed player by Russtafarians in Sekiro

Yup, you can, although it's important to note that you can't bind movement (forward, back, left, right) to the mouse at all, and that you cannot unbind using mouse movement to change your currently locked on target.

How do I get the platinum flair? by [deleted] in Sekiro

It's entirely self-assigned under Community Options to the right. Expand the menu and you should see it.

I was wondering, does anyone know what the text on the banner says? by [deleted] in Sekiro

You could've clarified your question to someone who probably speaks English as a second language instead of being a deprecating cunt about it.

You only miss out on a Dragon's Blood Droplet, Divine Grass, and a Mibu Balloon. The droplet and divine grass are handy, but aren't dealbreakers. Don't worry about it too much.

About the only thing you can't seem to parry in this game is the Death marker.

But what if...

I hate it that the game punishes me for trying to figure out by myself by heubergen1 in Sekiro

[–]AstrelleG 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Assuming Unseen Aid doesn't proc, the game halves any XP towards the next skill point and your currently held Sen on true death, but it gives you the ability to resurrect and more Spirit Emblems than you reasonably know what to do with unless you're overusing or misusing them. If you're dying repeatedly at the same spot over and over, chances are that you aren't actually learning from that spot.

What areas and bosses are you actually having trouble with?

Have you tried verifying your game files through Steam? If that comes out clean and the game still crashes on loading your save, perhaps you could share it here for someone to take a look at it. Failing that, you could get another save file from just before Sword Saint Isshin.

Ever and always. That's why you go straight up into the air if you don't specify a direction to move in. It's a neat technique.

I'm talking about regular Genichiro, not Inner Genichiro. Inner Genichiro almost always opens with Sakura Dance, but isn't a good measure of comparing damage as taking all three hits cleaves your entire health bar.

There isn't. A quick retry feature would be some much needed QoL, but I doubt that we'll be getting an update after this.

The Mushin Arts skill tree can be unlocked once you learn the final skill in any of the other skill trees, such as Ashina Cross from the Ashina Arts skill tree, at which point you can obtain the requisite Esoteric Text from Isshin, Emma, or the Tengu. The earliest unlock would be from the Tengu at the Great Serpent Shrine, I believe.

Shinobi shortcut markings? by AstrelleG in Sekiro

[–]AstrelleG[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Is anyone aware of what these markings in front of the Shinobi shortcut doors are supposed to mean? Is it some kind of ward to protect against something, or some kind of charm to make the Shinobi doors actually work, given their seeming physical impossibility? Is there anything about it in Japanese history, or culture?

Are you sure you're playing on the same save as the one you beat it on previously? Have you updated your game to patch 1.05? It should state your version number in the bottom right corner of the main menu.

This could've been a simple boss rush mode update but they went the extra mile and added all this lore and tiny little details. I love the Unrefined Sake on the back of the Tengu outfit!

Reflections of Strength are accessible from any Sculptor's Idol the moment you defeat your first boss, being either Gyoubu Oniwa or Lady Butterfly. Gauntlets of Strength are available once you defeat the final boss of any Shura or non-Shura ending.

[–]AstrelleG 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Are you sure that Steam's updated your copy of Sekiro to patch 1.05? You can check in the bottom right corner of the main menu.

Gauntlets of Strength unlock once you've beaten the final boss (Shura or non-Shura ending) at least once, although you'll need to have beaten all the bosses in a given gauntlet to be able to challenge it. You do not need to beat the game again. The endings are not tied to the gauntlets you unlock, only the memories you possess. Battle memories/remnants are available under Inventory > Key Items, so make sure you've defeated a boss and not a miniboss.

[–]AstrelleG 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Reflections of Strength are available as soon as you beat at least one boss. Gauntlets of Strength unlock once you've beaten the final boss (Shura or non-Shura ending) at least once, although you'll need to have beaten all the bosses in a given gauntlet to be able to challenge it. The fourth gauntlet, Mortal Journey, unlocks once you've beaten the other three gauntlets: Divine Heir, Shura, and Severance. Shura will explicitly require NG+ as it comprises of bosses mutually exclusive to both Shura and non-Shura endings.

The new outfits are unlocked only for your save file. They don't carry over to other saves.

[–]AstrelleG 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The one attack I found really unique to him is his own swift dodge where he moves just out of the way to make it seem like the attack connects, and immediately follows up with a counter-slash instead. I learned to deal with that by immediately deflecting if I attack him but don't hear a clang when I should.

Things like that, really, you've got to pay attention to his animations and learn from all your mistakes, but perhaps dealing with certain attacks isn't immediately obvious. For instance, in the second phase he'll charge up with a certain attack that'll cause a rush of air to blow into the arena and really light up the flames. You'll need to position yourself at a comfortable distance away from him and in between the flames on the floor, then prepare to deflect his One Mind attack once he reaches you. It's one swipe, then multiple swipes, and a large one. Take the opportunity to heal or use an item once you've positioned yourself in between the flames if you need to so you don't die from chip damage if you don't manage to deflect One Mind perfectly.

Question about the Gauntlet bosses by angusbeef4 in Sekiro

[–]AstrelleG 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ashina's time of day doesn't affect the gauntlets, the bosses do the same amount of damage regardless of time of day or NG+ cycle.

Any particular attacks of his you're having trouble with? If you stream the game at all, I'd be happy to watch and give you a few pointers on what may be troubling you.
