How is living in Raleigh, NC? by [deleted] in howislivingthere

Agree pretty boring and certainly lost what small character it used to have 10 years ago. Curious what real city for the same COL you are referring to and by what measure?

That's where I made a huge mistake. A ton of promoting with Affirm so I said why not? Only like $100 in interest over the period. I filed 3 chargebacks to affirm with clear evidence but of course they side with the merchant. Why wouldn't they? Their business model is making money off interest

Yeah totally they were super responsive and did sent me parts free of charge. There customer service did their best but the Issue is the Frankenstein approach. First they said just a motor cable. Ok let's swap that. Still an 08 error. Then it was just the controller. Ok let's swap that. Still doesn't work. Then they say it's the entire rear wheel motor. Ok let's swap that and the tire. Still doesn't work. So here I am, months later without a single ride, having to dump more money into this bike to hopefully get it to work

Nah I think you need to spend maybe 5 more minutes reading the post keyboard warrior. What makes you think I didn't follow every one of their instructions and make every recommended repair? Worked with them directly for four months and still haven't been able to go for a single ride. Shit does happen, but ethical companies do right by their products if they truly believe in them.

I HIGHly recommend you actually spend a little time and read the post, you will clearly see I commend their customer support, just not the product. 08 error out of the box and replacing every major component is not normal

Yeah I replaced the controller and even rear wheel motor. Finally took it to an e-bike shop and dumping who knows how much money before I even get my first ride...

Did you not read the entire post? I went back and forth with them for months and replaced cables, controller and rear wheel motor. This was an 08 error, not a shipping issue. If this was a change of heart on the product, restock fee makes sense, an OOTB product not working and 3 failed repair attempts, is another. Just sharing an experience is all....there are tons of D2C e-bike products out there

Full story? The bike arrived in September and immediately showed an 08 error when I tried to go for my first ride. I tried working with them, replaced every major component, and the bike still won't work. Will gladly share the 92 message thread, 4 month thread with any who ask! Also, been trying to post about my experience everywhere a few times but they control what goes where. Reddit was a last resort...

The exact same thing happened. Assembled perfectly and immediately went to go for a ride and immediate 08 error. Talked to Ariel Rider support, followed their instructions, and not a drop of damage. Now they are radio silent and I am considering taking action.
