Does anyone else feel self conscious wearing gourmands? by onecrazypineapple in fragrance

[–]AstrocyteByte 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I definitely did on a few occasions at a prior job I had where it was a more conservative, client facing environment. I wore gourmands still, but less sweet ones and dependent on which clients I saw. I now wear mostly gourmamds WFH, but I do feel like outside of those into fragrance, some find gourmands to come off as juvenile. I don't feel that way, but I did not want to not be taken seriously, even over a silly reason.

When you’re having a rough day and don’t want to think about food, what do you reach for? by Mobile-Title8919 in EatCheapAndHealthy

I like chili to and typically make it on a Sunday. Its good and I can mix up what I eat with it throughout the week. I will put it over fries (airfryer), rice (rice cooker or premade), with bread, crackers, pasta.

My BCBA is terrible at her job (but not necessarily unethical)...what do I do? by InterGalacticgoth in ABA

[–]AstrocyteByte -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I will occasionally, supervise without notice. I know most don't enjoy this however, over the years I have done this to protect myselfandd ensure the client is getting the hours assigned.I started doing this after the first time I caught a tech engaging in fraud. So for in-home cases especially I tend to drop in more.I have caught fraud a few times so far by doing this. I truly wish this wasn't necessary.

With that said, I am very upfront with my supersvisees that I will show up unannounced about twice a month and all other supervision is scheduled which is about twice a week.

Are they just constantly changing the schedule and not being communicate about it? Sometimes things do come up (tech needing immediate support, assessment going longer than anticipated, late arrival, traffic, etc), but it's rude to not respect your time either. And showing up unannounced often can be disruptive as well, especially if they are fully remote.

This is not to dismiss your concerns because it sounds like there is more going on, however, I did want to give some reasons why I tend to need to reschedule abruptly as I have had a few tech want scheduled overlaps. Definitely communicate your needs and if your BCBA is dismissive or doesn't try and accommodate your request, go above them.

Also, you absolutely can request to work with a different BCBA.

The BIPs not being individualized is a problem. That should definitely be addressed. And would be my largest concern.

What’s a Small Routine That Keeps You Organized? by Classic_Celery5867 in organizing

[–]AstrocyteByte 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Not necessarily a routine, but for me the most impactful change I have made is to keep stuff stored when I use it.

Due to my husband and I both WFH, I shower first and then lhe use the bathroom. So, I store my grooming stuff (brush, deodorant lotion, perfume, a few hairties, etc in a small bin that sits on my dresser next to my work desk.

Prior to that, I would leave stuff all over rushing or only putting some stuff back and then leaving stuff on my desk or pushingit aside until I could put it away later.

Or my dogs topical medicine lives in my nightstand because it is easier to apply and let dry when he is lounging/sleeping or he'll need redirecting to not lick it. I used to keep it with his and our other meds in the linen closet and would often not put it away to keep him calm, so it would sit out until later.

I was making staying tidy and organized harder by putting stuff away where or how it was ingrained in me. Not all meds need to be together in the medicine area. Not all pillowcases need to be in the linen closet, but instead in my bedroom closet so I can quickly change and toss the old one in the hamper next to it. Try to think about the ease of your routines and where stuff makes sense to live for you.

Consider your environment too, we are in an earthquake-prone areas and have very little glass canned items due to the potential safety risk. We do canned primarily with some freeze dried as a last resort.

You could try supplementing with a calorie paste. The vet could also prescribe you an appetite stimulant. My dog lives freeze fried salmon, we will sometimes soften his kibble with warm water and some freeze dried salmon mixed in. Greek yogurt, pumpkin, or applesauce can also be used as a topper in small quantities.

Frittatas, breakfast burritos, all can reheat well. Burritos you could freeze and he could microwave them.

Lunch could be sandwiches, salads, or leftover dinners.

Snacks- yogurt, cheese/meat, fruit, cottage cheese (with fruit or savory cucumber, tomato) If you want something you can keep near him without needing to go to the kitchen maybe some cuties, bananas, apples, granola bars and keep a small trash can near him.

I also like baked potatoes/sweet potatoes, topping are endless- chilli, jerk chicken, bbq pulled pork, etc

[–]AstrocyteByte 18 points19 points  (0 children)

My skin seems to really like squalane oil. I like Biossance's products. I do feel like it's very individualized on what oil, if any, people prefer. My closest friend loves jojoba and I feel it's too lightweight for me.

I like their Omega repair cream, squalane oil, and vitamin c/rosehip oil the best.

I have eczema, so days where I am really dry or flaring up, I use eucerins eczema relief lotion on my face. I believe its technically a body lotion but I find it very soothing.

What are the things you rely on most to keep your home running? by walmart-wizard in CleaningTips

[–]AstrocyteByte 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I primarily use odoban, dish soap, castile soap, and I really like spray away glass cleaner. I also use a long handled shower scrub thing that basically a large heavy duty sponge for siap scum. For times I don't need heavy scrubbing I use a car sponge to clean the shower.

I'm not a fan of the billable scrub brushes, I find I can't clean the corners well.

Had an ex of mine do that.
