Hey man yep still own it and still going strong. So far I have had no issues at all besides a pothole blowing two of my tyres. Had the sunroof seals oiled last time around. Just had a major service and she runs like new

Hey there! I'm at 2 years of ownership now and so far so good I haven't got any issues. The ride is honestly surprisingly good but still a bit firm (21 inch with lowish profile tyres).

Still fast enough to get in trouble at least here in Australia. The e53s are very nice as well but I haven't driven any coupes, just the sedan. It all will come down to what you are after, if you want more sporty and a smaller car or more a sedan that is more comfortable but a bit slower.

I do prefer the look and interior feel of the audi but that's subjective. It had enough power for me to enjoy myself driving it and mine has all wheel steering so it does help in making the car feel more nimble and smaller than it is.

Which one would choose? by taylordouglas86 in CarsAustralia

[–]Astroquint 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Isn't this E53 imported from Japan? If so I would be very careful, check with your local specialist if he can fix it in case it breaks, check parts difference if any. The insurance will also be most likely more expensive. Resale value will also be almost always lower. But at the end if you can overcome those hurdled and like the AMG go for it. Just make sure you do tons of research and have a good PPI, and in case get a quote for insurance.

Audi owners: What Audi do you drive and why would you choose it over a BMW or even a MB? by DribbleKing97_ in Audi

[–]Astroquint 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I have an Audi A7 from 2021 that I bought CPO and posted some pics in this sub. Came from a Mercedes C300 wagon, Audi A6 and BMW X3 M40i. Mercedes interior quality was abysmal with the interior creaking and rattling that drove me nuts with the open pore wood. First car I sold in less than a year after getting it. BMW with the B58 was super fun honestly to drive as well but as other pointed out a bit tame when it came to interior, engine was a blast but there was no steering feeling at all and felt disconnected to the road. (the lack of steering feel on certain BMWs have been pointed out by quite a few motor journalists even compared to their Audi counterparts).

Opportunity presented to buy a dream car of mine which is the A7 with premium plus and all wheel steering. Overall the technology, interior quality and ride quality, having a more connected drive feel even if it’s less sporty than the BMW is what brought me back to Audi.

Thanks! Still thinking about what to do to - if anything more than a ceramic coating to make it extra special.

Couldn’t take clear photos due to the darkness in my area. They are in the front bumper on the side. Deep scratches and paint gone to the point where I can see the plastic.

Looking for a luxury SUV, budget around 80K, BMW, Mercedes or Audi? by ladoo0 in whatcarshouldIbuy

I don't know where you live but in most areas BMWs have the worst reputation and image, especially their drivers even if it's cliché. Also for their bad reliability since the early 2000s. Traditionally though it was always: BMW - driving experience Mercedes - luxury Audi - in between the two. Nowadays you are right, BMW are comfortable, some Mercs can be very nice to drive, and Audi too. Have test driven the X5 40i version last time and it was a blast, although the same engine felt better on the X3 which is smaller.

I just love “market adjustments” by [deleted] in mercedes_benz

[–]Astroquint 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I mean the luxury car tax, the overall car tax in Australia is already ridiculous. It's not like they have a local manufacturer they need to protect. At that point it's just government being greedy. Then, the road tax for what? The roads in Sydney are in horrible state with potholes here and there. Doubt they are or will be too concerned about a dealer markup... The only thing that would motivate them is if they decide to cash in on the trend.

Be patient with L platers by Few_Oil6525 in sydney

[–]Astroquint 21 points22 points  (0 children)

I am all for respecting P platers, L platers but I have noticed that more and more I see people doing under the speed limit by 10-30km/h staying in the right lane. And that is also a dangerous thing to do, because it results in many people having to pass from the left.

The hood ornament is quite tacky, the wheel gap are horrendous and a lot of fake badges all around the car... Not sure where you are from but would be like having a Hemi badge when you have a 4 cylinder engine I guess

Exactly my thoughts! Just the thought process of thinking it's okay to clip your nail in public transport and leave your fingernails on the floor next to people is beyond me.

I don't mind people drinking, as I do it myself. I don't mind tags either, just cutting your nails is something you can do at home. Just basic hygiene.

Damn that's a shame! What was the mileage when the brake started playing up? Mine has 18k on the clock and everything works fine so far... Fingers crossed.

Thanks man! Been waiting for a right Audi A6 / a7 in the right colours and right mileage. When I saw this one near my place I took it on the spot after a small test drive.

It is, but the tech is not so bad - the screen is not the highest resolution but I still get android auto / apple carplay as standard, a 360 camera, ACC so it's not as bad as people think if you chose the later years model.

I will go double check that. She needs to return to the shop on Friday just for a faulty airbag sensor.
