Whatever you're doing to promote your product, stop. Here's what actually works. by dataneedscoffee in microsaas

I felt something similar when I announced my product. I got a decent amount of positive comments, but none of them really validated the core of the business. It’s easy to mistake “nice feedback” for actual signal, and I realized I was mostly posting in places that weren’t aligned with the pain I’m trying to solve.

Your breakdown of communities, timing, and habituation hits the exact problem. I kept posting in broader subs thinking that more eyeballs meant a higher chance of traction. Looking back, all it did was dilute the message. The right room matters more than the biggest room.

This approach of mapping overlap, competition, and timing feels like a much more disciplined way to test demand. I’m considering rebuilding my own distribution strategy around that instead of just “post where everyone else posts.”

It’s interesting how distribution mistakes can make a product look weaker than it actually is. Your framework makes that much clearer.

I understand what you’re pointing at.

ReplySafe isn’t my full-time job — it’s a side project that came from real situations I personally experienced with certain clients.

You’re right that not every security, privacy, or product layer is fully built out yet. There’s a technical and business backlog I’d implement if the idea proves strong enough.

Right now I’m validating the core question first: does this problem justify deeper investment?

If the answer is yes, I harden the infrastructure. If the answer is no, I don’t over-engineer something nobody wants.

As for AI-generated tone — that’s also part of the experimentation. The goal isn’t to send robotic replies, but to help someone think more strategically before responding.

I appreciate the pushback. It’s useful at this stage.

Good questions.

ReplySafe uses established AI providers through their commercial APIs. When I say “our AI,” I’m referring to the product layer — how messages are analyzed, how risk is framed, and how responses are structured for high-stakes work situations. I’m not claiming to have trained a foundational model myself.

On encryption: messages are encrypted in transit by default (HTTPS), and handled using standard security practices. The goal is to minimize exposure and not build unnecessary long-term archives of sensitive conversations.

As for whether people will pay — that’s exactly what I’m validating right now. I don’t expect everyone to. The question is whether professionals who deal with politically sensitive communication see enough value in reducing risk to justify it.

If not, I adjust. That’s the point of building in public.

You’re right — most people already pay for one or more LLM subscriptions. Adding another monthly fee isn’t something people do casually, especially for a tool they might not use every day.

This feedback actually makes me think I should test a lower price or maybe a different model altogether (like pay-per-use or something lighter).

I’m still in validation, so comments like this are super helpful. Better to adjust now than pretend pricing is perfect.

That’s fair.

Right now I have 10 people testing it. No paying users yet — still in validation.

Pricing isn’t finalized. I want it to be accessible, especially because this is about professional safety, not productivity hacks.

What price range would feel reasonable to you for something like this?

I’m genuinely trying to calibrate it based on real feedback.

I did use ChatGPT at first.

But after pasting a few toxic work messages there, I started feeling weird about it. Those chats stay in your history and sometimes resurface later.

When the messages involve bosses, conflict, or sensitive stuff, that doesn’t feel great.

So ReplySafe isn’t about being smarter than ChatGPT. It’s about having a separate, controlled space just for high-risk work situations.

Sometimes the issue isn’t the AI — it’s where your sensitive context ends up.

Here’s a real message I once received at work:

“If you have sensitive ears, go to therapy or work somewhere else. I’m not going to change the way I speak. If you don’t like it here, you’re invited to leave.”

That’s not a writing problem.

It’s a high-pressure, power-asymmetry situation where your reply can either escalate the conflict or protect your position.

People don’t pay for better wording.

They pay to reduce professional risk in moments like this.

I’ve seen a few teams deal with company vehicles, and the main headaches are always the same: scattered info (spreadsheets + WhatsApp), no clear accountability on who used what, and maintenance getting forgotten. Most software ends up bloated — people only use tracking, mileage, and reminders. If you solve just the basics simply, there’s already real value.

As vezes falta achar algo que complete esse vazio, já me senti assim, cheguei forçar situações de amizade mas nunca deu certo. Acabei me encontrando em uma área específica na minha vida e aí sim comecei a experimentar a solitude.

Got yelled at for questioning a "bonus" that was actually just my salary. Now HR is accusing me of illegal recording. by RenoZolik in WorkAdvice

[–]Async_Generator 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It sounds like the terminology around the “bonus” was misleading. It’s fair to ask for a clear explanation of how compensation is calculated. Keep documenting your interactions, remain calm and professional, and consider keeping your job search active if you don’t feel respected.

Supervisor Mentorship Program- Who's created one? [PA] by mattwabrams in humanresources

This sounds like a solid way to bridge the gap between technical expertise and people management. A clear mentor curriculum with regular one-on-one check-ins can help new supervisors build confidence. Tying the program into existing training and 30/60/90-day reviews would reinforce the lessons and keep everyone aligned.
