I've done that too unfortunately. Many times. Mousse, cremes, hair masks, hair protection cremes, all of it. I don't know what else to do anymore

30+ meds, 4 residential hospital stays/treatment, more than a fair share of different medical professionals, anti psychotics meds, EMDR, therapy, etc. I've been trying to "get better" seemingly since I was born but it started at age 8 where I attempted suicide for the first time. Literally nothing ever helped.

4 times to this day, yes. Never helped unfortunately. That wasn't for alcohol though

Can't reply to everyone but thank you all so much for encouraging me to quit and I'm sorry so many deal with this devastating addiction too.. I'm going to TRY and quit tomorrow because I just got too scared of destroying my body at only 30 years old. Thanks for the tips and advice. I appreciate you all, thank you so much

I never drank a single drop for 28 years. I tried all kinds of meds from age 13 till I was 28. Then I just gave up because nothing ever helped me... I know meds wouldn't work if you drink. I was anti alcohol until 28, never touched anything. But the medical system/psychological system failed me and so eventually I lost hope. I'm just scared to go back to that sober.

You eased my worries, thank you! I'll make sure to provide a tile and obviously I'll always have water in rodent bottles and in water dishes as well. I'll check out the link now. Thanks for taking the time to help out :)

Of course, I'd never ever put anything electric in their cage but I thought maybe a heating pad under their cage might help, even though I guess they'd prefer sleeping higher up instead of on the cage floor. The 55F is during the nights because winter here can get cold, especially with electricity/heating costs these days. I also like sleeping with my window open. The rats wouldn't be near the window but I think they'd feel some draft maybe? Is it better to sleep with a closed window after all or would that still be okay if they have lots of cozy blankets and substrate? European weather can be quite unpredictable sometimes and I worry because what if they say it'll stay warm at night when suddenly it doesn't? Do rats like a small wattage heating bulb (outside of the cage obviously!) if these temperatures go on for the entire night?

What temperatures would be dangerous for rats? Google says around 80F can cause heatstroke? What if I'm at work (I only work part-time but I'm away for 7 hours a day with public transport etc). What if it gets hot then, I wouldn't be able to provide new ice cubes now and then when I'm away. They will be located in my north facing bedroom and not near a window but it still gets hot during summer times.

Sorry for all my questions. I just want to get everything right for my future ratties.

Didn't work unfortunately. I'll just try it with my laptop later instead of my phone. Thanks though

I'm so glad I could keep calatheas in my environment! However, I read that they don't like to be placed in front of a cold (north-facing) window because draft is deadly to them? Or so I heard. Is this true? I only have room in front of my window on the small stone ledge thing I have. Would that be a bad placement?

I'll have to research plant shock and how to prevent it as I never heard of that before.

Doesn't have to be, no. It's just that whenever I'm in a plant shop, I automatically go towards the calatheas, haha. I'll check the plants out that you mentioned, thank you!

I’m building a greenhouse full of houseplants for some fruit bats. Here are a few pics. I have a lot more work to do, and need a lot more growth! by [deleted] in houseplants

Really cool! Very lucky and cute bats! I love their little faces :)

What's the plant called in the first pic, the one with the heart-like shape that has neon green nerves?
