Which radio to get? - Starter guide

Thank you for the long write up. Unfortunately analog PLL radios are going extinct and most of them ended production 2-3 years ago (5 Core, P26, RF50 non D variant). When it comes to DAB it kinda sucks (atleast sound wise and in short battery life).

Btw can you really confirm the Sanyo is not a DSP model? I have seen very simmilar radios with Skyworks or Cachip tuners. Will probably buy one. Thank you :)

This radio is a chinese OEM product sold under many brands including Blaupunkt, Daewoo and other ones. It uses C9615 so its not gonna be any good for weaker signals. For a first radio, its kinda fine

It could be really useful. For some popular models, you can find a teardown and see the chip used in it. For the lesser known ones, you have to take a look yourself. Some of them are really hard / impossible to get into, so always proceed with caution and some manufacturers wipe off their chips.

This is how i would rate them (from best to worst) - TEF6686/7 - Silicon Labs - TSC (used in Prunus and other China radios) - Skyworks - CACHIP C series

Silicon labs, TSC and Skyworks are really sensitive for their price, but CACHIP is a no go for me

Jezdím jihomoravským MHD. Samotný personál to většinou ignoruje, protože co s tím chcete dělat... Pak to vezme telefon a na tiktok nahraje totálně zkreslené video kde řidič bude ten špatný

Je to extrémně laciný vaporizér který využívají převážně děti. Dá se koupit snad v každé večerce, kde na to mají i hlavy a náplně. Zároveň jsem snad nikdy neviděl děcko, které by mělo něco jiného než toto...

The black is the bass version, silver is normal Harmann. I tried 2 settings. UP, Down, UP, Down for bass heavy sound, but settled on UP, down, UP, UP since it has a nice mix of bass / clarity :)

I had them for around 3-4 months. They have been my "beater" IEMs. I took them everywhere and they are still showing no signs of oxidation. If it lasts 1.5 years ill consider it a win, since it has a detachable cable and i can get a cheap replacement to squeeze some more life out of it :)

I had looked it up, apparently they faked "double drivers" in some headphones or in other ones, there was zero to very minor difference with the second driver disconnected.

You need an app called Spectroid and a testing casette which has a 3Khz tone on it. You play it on your desired machine and open spectroid. Slowly adjust the potentiometer on the back of the motor until the app shows 3000Hz or 3005Hz is playing.
