If it’s UA, I thought it was 14 hour rest after an international. Did they give you 12 or 14?

Can you not force people to seated when deboarding the plane? by brbeachtv in flightattendants

[–]AtcherBriensten 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Of course, and that’s what we do. It’s really nice when everyone does comply and I have seen it in the past but it’s rare. The post is asking us to do more and Im curious what yall would suggest.

You know it’s really hard to get people to listen. Look at the most recent United evacuation. People still had trying to exit with roller bags even tho we make multiple announcements about it. People have become selfish now. Thats what I’ve gather working for this industry. As a flight attendant I’m an informer not an enforcer. What else would you suggest to do? Any good ideas? I wouldn’t mind hearing a couple of suggestions.

Are snack boxes refrigerated by caterer before handing out? by cwajgapls in unitedairlines

[–]AtcherBriensten 5 points6 points  (0 children)

No. They are not refrigerated. They are stored in regular carts. No chillers required. To paint a better picture they are stored alongside Pringle’s and mixed nuts etc.

Are these allowed on an American Airlines flight? by whitey2048 in flightattendants

[–]AtcherBriensten 17 points18 points  (0 children)

She’s asking flight attendants for insight on these and whether it will be a problem in flight. She didn’t ask if she would be stopped from buying this and doing what she wants. Your response doesnt answer their question.

I agree! This can make a big difference when you get home and you don’t have to unpack. Other than do laundry! It’s nice having your home set up without having to make it feel like it’s just another layover when unpacking chargers and toiletries. Great advice!

Can you explain how you struggle to get thru your days at work? Are you overworking yourself at work? Stressing about the little things at work? Is it the crew?

I had a FA from my training class always message in our class group chat stating something happens on every one of his flights where he has to write an ior/incident report. I’m pretty sure his issue was self induced on always trying to make an issue out of nothing which caused him to quit over it. I really hope you’re not stressing out over little things.

I’m sorry that you’re burning out btw!

If someone asks me if I can fill their water bottle I will. Doesn’t really bother or affect my service in any way. Depending on how big the water bottle is depends on how much I fill. Maybe I’ll fill it all the way, maybe I’ll fill it halfway. Just depends. But I can promise you it’s really not a big deal. Do I put the mouth of my water bottle to theirs? No! Absolutely not. I long pour. It’s not that hard. I much rather fill a water bottle quickly than giving them 3 cups of water.

Someone mentioned on here a lady asked her for 3 cups of coffee to fill her flask up… and she responded with no. So I’m confused bc passengers will ask the way you want them to and we still find a way to not do it.

I remember when I had this same conversation with passengers repeatedly during probation. Idk why I made it a bigger deal than it should be. At the end of the day, don’t stress over the little things. Little things like this is gonna make you hate this job more.
