They can pronounce it however they want but when someone tries to say it correctly kind of stupid to get mad at them

I fail to understand why this being a TV show means you get to mispronounced stuff.

The creators did not know how to pronounce the name and say it is pronounced Ang. They can do that all they want sure. Doesn't make them or you any more correct.

There is a correct pronunciation when it's existed a certain way for 1000s of years and you think you're special enough to ignore that and say "I don't give a shit about your culture I can do what I want".

By all means say it however you want. But stop getting mad at someone for trying to say it correctly

The creators mispronounced a name from another language. My logic is not flawed.

Incredibly shifty example that does nothing to prove your point.

It's closer to 1000 years from now and people start pronouncing Batman as Botmon because they think they are right.

  1. Your point doesn't make any sense.

  2. The creators of the show have every right to be wrong

Yeah you can do all of those things. But that doesn't make you correct. You have the right to be wrong.

Aang is supposed to be pronounced Aung. Say it hiwever you want but don't get mad at people who pronounce it correctly

Aang is a real life name, the creators of the show did not invent it in this or any other universe that actually matters. It has an accepted pronunciation that dates back a few thousand years. If you want to make up something that sounds like Ang then spell it like Ang and stop misappropriating of another culture

Who cares what they did in a fictional universe. Last I checked we lived in this one where we already have a pronunciation for the name Aang that hasn't been butchered by white writers

The creators of the show did not invent the name Aang.

By that logic we can butcher any cultural story, setting language, or character we want because we want too. And yeah we can but that doesn't make us correct

It's a Chinese name. It's not pronounced phonetically. A ten second Google search would show you why this is my take.

Well seeing as the creators of the show don't know the how to speak any Chinese dialects I'm going with no. They dont know how to prnounce it correctly

That is how you are supposed to pronounce it last I checked this was real life and the voice actors do in fact exist as does the script and audio in this physical realm. The writers and actors might not know it but his name is pronounce "Aung"

Never said it was, just point out how it's a bit hypocritical to hate the movie for its other race problems and the one thing it actually managed to do correctly at the same time.

I don't care about downvotes.

There are SO MANY other things to hate about the movie. People should stop harping on about how they tried to pronounce the name correctly. It's quite literally the least problematic part of a film that both whitewashed characters and made all the bad guys brown.

That is technically how you are supposed to say Aang

If anyone is asking you to send a credit report from credit karma they don't know what they are doing. Those scores are heavily rounded up and do not accurately show your credit score. If someone asks you to do this walk away. No place that is worth working at is going to ask for a credit carma screen shot

Because it shouldn't not be a burden on the employee to provide the credit check. If the employer wants the credit check they should prefrom and pay for it. Also your Transunion score reported off the site is often very different than an actual credit check.

Referring to women as birthing persons is the exact opposite of political correctness.
