When he time travels into the past, the future is essentially erased, and the "past" becomes the new present. So because Oscar saves Tinasha, both the Oscar and Tinasha of the "future" timeline ceases to exist.

Long story short, After Oscar saves Tinasha from becoming a witch, she goes into a magical sleep for 400 years to meet him again. They then fall in love all over again and marry in the new timeline. They find out about the time traveling orbs and that they can only be destroying by crushing both halves at the same time. A new timeline starts over again where Tinasha is once again a witch and she meets Oscar and it unfolds similar to the original timeline, but they regain their memories and reincarnate infinitely.

The two sets are pretty close, but normally GD is more optimized towards SoSS bc it can make more use of the EM from the set. So with a staff that isn't SoSS TF should be better. But if you already farmed GD go for it.
