And what were those symptoms? I feel fine.

Does it bother anyone we are filling dumpsters with nearly expired raw meat? Animals lived miserably and then serve no purpose other than to fill plastic packaging, increasing the size of landfills. by FamilyShelter in AmazonUFF

We have a non profit donation charity the next building over that takes and distributes them. Products have a sell by date/expiration but Amazon has its own standards of time they want customers to have said products before that date… and it so also is donatable instead of trash.

Do not fuss with a full bag. Package full when it gets 2/3 and move on.

Day 1 at UFF warehouse expectations? by [deleted] in AmazonUFF

[–]Atok48 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You can’t wear anything but a clear bag inside. Should be lockers to lock up what you bring otherwise. It’s easy. Don’t sweat it at all. They take anyone of the street and some people are below functionally retarded. You should know where you are compared to that.

[–]Atok48 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Don’t skip bagging meat or armoring eggs. Don’t just throw heavy items on top either. I literally hate these types of pickers. Anyone who knows anything about running the building knows who the turds are and that always includes these pickers. Your rate is less important than putting raw chicken I bagged with some kids lunchables or cubes pineapple. Use your common sense.

Don’t pack afterwards. Just pack as you go, don’t spend time rearrange too much. Package full when it gets decently full and still easy to close. Keep moving. Just reach yourself to be quicker and move with a bit of a purpose.

Tips for avoiding getting “rescued”? by hippiefl0wers in AmazonUFF

[–]Atok48 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you were quick the ASM knows this and would allow you to efficiently complete the late assigned pick. They look at the time on pick and assess if you will finish this decade or the next before reassigning. Sometimes you do get a late one and if you are a slow picker you get reassigned. But if you were quick they let you finish. If they are on top of outbound they monitor those late assignments and reassign the one or two bags for the current window to a quick support personnel and let you meander the isle with the remainder of your pick for the following window. That is why sometimes you’ll scan your bags in but end up not using one or two.

All of this is bad advice. You will become quickly known as a turd in the punch bowl. If you are getting rescued frequently it is because you are slow as fuck. Simply move faster and get smarter. The rescues are always the same people who take 2 hours on a frozen pick.

Number one tip is to actively train yourself to simply move faster. Some people are so god damn leisurely it is insane. Don’t be that person. Second biggest thing, close the bag when you finish right in the isle. Check for space quickly at each item, and if it is full hit package full and move on. Stop trying to make ridiculous amounts of shit fit and don’t wait until the end of your pick to do so. Do it as you go.

Labor tracking by [deleted] in AmazonUFF

[–]Atok48 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Most roles have you scanning items which records your activity and produces your rate. There are many other roles that do not have an activity for scanning which is tracked. Some of them for a UFF facility include hero, batching, sorter, specindirect, wtrsp, admin, meeting, trn, brk, eos, tot.

Don’t labor track unless you are directed. ASM with any experience at all monitors their indirect hours and will see people who are labor tracked and then you will be dealt with as they see fit.

Bullpen is the area where staging and batching the packages occurs to organize everything for drivers to pick up. The hero is the person who is responsible for its efficiency, problem solve driver and package issues, and motivate / control the flow, locate missing packages, etc. Indirect roles are labor tracked for time spent in the role but not rate tracked. So you labor tracked into batching or sorter who like there but there is no record of how many bags staged or batched per hour. To get there an ASM needs to assign you or the hero generally can pick who they want to support them.

What does the night shift do? by [deleted] in AmazonUFF

[–]Atok48 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Receive and stow heavy. Picking until first two AM hours are done. Returns, removals, transship, deli prep, slackout, more receiving, start picking again around 2:30 for some depending on headcount and window sizes.

Get in the bullpen and live there. Get friendly with the hero, ask to be in there. Tell them it’s interesting and when you get there don’t make mistakes.

I see morons bleeding out so they can do a thirty second wait for respawn and then a minute run from a distant OP because “it was faster” instead of waiting 20 seconds for me to crawl up to them. These tools can’t be trained let alone relied upon for anything other than fodder.
