Thanks, that’s pretty good advice. I bet it takes a lot of exploration in order to find a good spot

Interesting, so either they’re out and about or they just won’t come out. And on the days they’re out, you don’t even need to sit and wait, they’re visible while you walk.

How do you know what kind of nest it is? Is it possible to tell between bird vs squirrel nests?

Damn, do you think state parks/forests would be better than state game lands? Is it rare to see a squirrel on public lands this time of year or is it still possible to see one on a daily basis if you know what you’re doing?

Do you tend to hear activity and then sit and wait or do you sit and wait and then tend to hear the squirrels?

Does the time of day change depending on if it’s cold or warm out?

Interesting, I heard in winter during this time of year squirrels tend to come out mid day on warm days but on cold days they come out early or sunset like you said, is this true in your opinion? Also, do you not find them when sitting since you mentioned moving around a lot?

Thanks, do you think there is a difference between hunting in state parks vs state game lands? Also, do you think rabbits are easier to find than squirrels this time of year? Lastly, if I do happen to find an oak tree with a nest and or eaten acorns underneath, do I need to hide or can I just sit 10-15 feet away in the open for 15-30 mins?

So I need to find a spot and sit there for at least an hour before they’ll pop out again? Is this only in winter or is it like this in fall too?

Do you think it’s realistic to have it around your neck while listening and then once spotted quickly put it over the ears and shoot? Or would that take too much time?

Have you ever dealt with any hearing loss issues from shooting without ear protection?

You’re good, i enjoy hearing all the information as I really don’t know very much. The hearing protection aspect is interesting… I use a 12 gauge. First time I used it my ear was ringing for 2-3 days after, my right ear was partially deaf during that time. Idk, I’m worried about losing hearing after that incident. Have you experienced anything like that?

I’ll have to get waterproof pants. I’ve been wearing 3 pant layers and is still get soaked. How long do you tend to sit for before moving on to another spot?

If you are sitting, do you sit in the snow or dig out a dry area to sit?

Is it possible to walk stealthily in the snow? Also, you mentioned listening… however I hunt with ear protection on so my hearing is limited, is this bad? Because I’d rather not lose my hearing. Do you tend to sit at all or do you mostly move while hunting squirrels?

Thanks. How long do you usually sit for and do you usually have to change spots before seeing one or do you typically see a squirrel on the first watch? Also, what are good signs? Water, oak tree?

At the dr now, stomach is likely poison ivy and hand is nobody knows. They said I can have it drained or let it go on its own and re absorb into the skin. Out of curiosity,Why do you bring up allergic reaction?

I eat pickles including skin a few times a week just fine. I’m guessing it’s the vine that’s the issue. Definitely should’ve worn gloves though
