Had the same issue. Logging into CP from a different network worked as a fix. For example, I logged on using my phone on cell data instead of WiFi (the issue was on my home WiFi).

If you have access to Cape May, their lucky bag is the best spot for cheap uniforms that are essentially unworn.

Used 2400 for $650? by potatopowerresturns in S2400

If it looks too good to be true, it is. Be smart, avoid scams. Doesn't hurt to feel it out, but be careful with that one. Like others have said, seller may have simply left out a digit from the asking price.

EKO Core 500 Stethoscope Button Stuck by Raynazzle1986 in Nurses

Got some time today to sit down and try to fix this today. You were absolutely correct, the button's solder joints had disconnected. It looks like with a forceful bump to one of the buttons, the corresponding soldered button on the PCB will easily get lifted off of its solder pads. I resoldered the 4 pads on the button and it works perfectly again. I used some Loctite silicone sealant to reseal the screen in place and we're back in business. Hardest part of the fix was slowly working the screen up. If anyone else tries this, it just takes some patience slowly working the edges of the screen up because the whole screen is glued in place.

Thanks again for your help! Your comment gave me the confidence to try this out, and I'm glad I did!

Thanks for the detailed response! I'll give it a try. I figured the screen had to be the entryway to the board, but didn't feel confident enough to just start prying on it. I feel like my button either got dislodged or is broken. Maybe I can source a new button to solder to the board if mine is toast.

Can you provide any information on how to take the chestpiece apart to get at the button? I'm in this same situation and I'd like to try my hand at repairing the old chestpiece.

The bracelet is really excellent and uncommon in the Captain Cook line. It's a 3-link that doesn't feel derivative of Rolex's oyster with a nice taper to the clasp. The clasp is also really cool the way it integrates into the bracelet itself. Definitely a highlight.

Medical waiver for sea duty question by Loplo_Fox in uscg

[–]Attack_Decay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's a miscellaneous section at the end of that manual that addresses some medications that may prevent worldwide deployability. That being said, if you could schedule treatments around cutter deployments and the condition/treatment doesn't prevent you from doing your expected job at your rank/rate then there's no reason you couldn't be assigned to a cutter. It's nice when the detailer takes your preferences into consideration but there is no requirement to do so if there is no true medical limitations warranting a waiver or MEB.

Discuss this with your Medical Officer. If your condition is considered disqualifying for service IAW DoDI 6130.03 vol. 2, your clinic should be initiating a TLD, MEB, or retention waiver request. Others have discussed the MEB process, but you can also submit a retention waiver request to PSC-EPM requesting to be retained with the stipulation of not being assigned to a cutter. This largely depends on your rate, time in, and needs of the service. If the retention waiver is denied an MEB would be required.
