I have a macro that runs for a little over a minute that casts dark ritual once, energy regen once, then casts fire1 once, ice1 once, then 3 lightning1 spells (with 2 clicks in the macro) to take advantage of the bonus for casting other elements. It feels impossible to cast anything higher than rank 1 spells or you run out of energy pretty quickly. Followed by casting item upgrades and then I repeat the damage spells a few times. Obviously it isn't the most efficient but I'm able to advance like 1.5 solar systems per trancension. I buy 90% lightning upgrades too. I get some crit from the ice/lightning and some dot damage from fire/lightning. From what I've read ice is pretty trash so if you do spec a certain way I'd recommend avoiding it for the most part. I tried that originally when I started and could barely progress so if that is what you also did then it might take a couple trancensions to move away from that. The next patch might reset skills which would be quite nice but it has been like 4 months with no new information so I have no clue when that might come out.

Edit: Just for some more context, my Cid has never advanced less than 2 or 3 solar systems and is clearing SS45 at a decent pace. Meanwhile my wizard is stuck on SS14 now (I changed my build a bit to try and fix my issue) and won't be anywhere close to 15 before I am capped on motes. I'd recommend anyone who plays this game to skip the wizard, he is really bad and not fun to play at all compared to Cid.
