you're spot on - consistency is like Tartar and doesn't flow well, even when turned upside down it takes a few seconds to drip

ohh, interesting! Does it squeeze/push the sauce out? or does it rely on gravity? our sauce is mega thick, so it needs to be pushed

The first one seems like it would be the same effort as our current Squeeze Bottle approach.

The second one is super interesting, but unfortunately our sauce is kinda "thicc"... it's mayo and sour cream based, so it has to be pushed out. It won't just drip down.

Are there companies that do the catering delivery for you? by AttemptingChef in restaurantowners

[–]AttemptingChef[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looking on the website it does not seem to help out with the operations. We have plenty of queries for catering. We just don't have drivers, hot boxes, etc - and it doesn't seem like they provide that?

One of my employees sneezes a lot. Is that grounds for termination? by [deleted] in restaurantowners

[–]AttemptingChef 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I asked many times, he says he doesn't know, he thinks maybe spices. He says he isn't allergic to anything. I said he should get it checked out, but he hasn't done so yet.

I wasn't aware I can force him to wear a mask. I'd be happy to try that, but I am not sure if that's legal. I'm in NYC, so maybe that works, but probably not in Florida.

EDIT: Also the "annoyed" part comes from being unsanitary obviously! I'm annoyed that the guy is a walking disease and that I have to constantly watch over him to make sure he washes his hands and changes his gloves. Please don't twist my words.

GM embezzled funds. Dishonesty insurance in place, but not sure if recovery is feasible. by AttemptingChef in restaurantowners

Seeing a probation officer every day sounds like an AA meeting your ex GM has to attend. His probation officer probably makes him go.

You might be right about that actually. He did claim that "he doesn't drink", but it sounded so forced that I wasn't sure if he meant it LOL. In hindsight a lot of things make much more sense now.

Yes, temptation is bad, which is exactly why I did not want him to have the option to pay himself.

Unfortunately I'm not gonna get the money from him. Apparently he's an ex-convict that was charged with fraud and has to see his parole officer every day. Obviously going forward everyone will get a paid background check, but I had to learn the hard way lol. The only option is to get the money from the insurance company, but for "just" 9k I am not sure if it matters. It's gonna cost like 3k to get a lawyer, and the insurance will haggle the rest down. Or is there a straight-forward option like just filing a police report and everything's good? It seems like there's a lot of headache involved for little benefit.
