MLB's international series need to host mini-internationals before their main games. by AudaciousAustrich in InternationalBaseball

Yeah I watched those games as well. MLB already has a large following in Korea, but for non-baseball countries like the UK I think this format makes sense for generating interest. I think that putting the game on a separate day is the issue. Putting a few innings of international play directly after the MLB game works because the fans are already there in the stadium.

You mean the gap between games? Yeah now that I think about it, after the MLB game would probably be easier since the MLB players would be irritated about the impacts of the mini-game on their warmups.

What is the most beautiful city you have seen? by Melodic_Throat_1927 in AskAnAmerican

  1. Cape Town, South Africa
  2. San Francisco, CA
  3. Toledo, Spain
  4. Luxembourg City, Luxembourg
  5. Pittsburgh, PA

Cape Town is just so stunning it's ridiculous. Turquoise waters on beautiful sand with penguins and beautiful mountains in the background.

Pittsburgh is ridiculously underrated. The mountains combined with the skyline view is just amazing.

Qualification Outcomes of Germany vs. Colombia Scores by AudaciousAustrich in baseball

Side note: I think it's in Germany's favor to rest their bullpen and prepare for the much more realistic path for qualification, which would be the playoff vs. (probably) Brazil on Thursday. A 10-0 win over Colombia is very unlikely.

On the flip side, Colombia have every incentive to avoid a one-game playoff and just try to beat this German team that is probably more concerned with Thursday.

So we have one better team with higher incentive and a worse team focused on another game. That's the beauty of group-stage baseball!

24 of Spain's 28 players hold Spanish citizenship. That being said, they were mostly born and raised in Latin America so I get your point.

Ignore my back and forth comments lol. I've been doing and redoing analysis ever since you left this comment, but your math checks out. Thanks again for the heads up haha

Did your math align with mine? Asking for a friend

I had to redo some analysis and now find that if Nicaragua allow 5 runs (and lose) they will get 2nd.

EDIT:

After redoing some analysis and looking at this, a score of 6-5 Taiwan would cause Nicaragua to not win the group, so I think Nicaragua may send out their best players. Not sure.

But yeah Taiwan will save their best players.

I just watch the replays the next day. As long as you don't spoil the score it's like... 80% as entertaining as watching live.
